SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police said Tuesday they have arrested a student for threatening to "shoot up" Westview High School.The threat was reported by school staff Tuesday, wherein a student reportedly told other students not to come to school Wednesday "because the student was going to shoot up the school," according to a press release from school officials.Officials said several students reported the threats to Westview High officials. School staff started investigating the threats before contacting police.RELATED: Police investigate threatening messages at Rancho Bernardo High SchoolThe student who reportedly made the threats was taken into custody and brought to Juvenile Hall. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Police have released pictures of a man accused of shooting and killing a 27-year-old man in the Midway District in late February.Police say Ernesto Castallenos Martinez, 41, shot and killed Alexander Mazin in a parking lot behind the 24 Hour Fitness on the 3600 block of Midway Drive.Following the shooting, police were led to the intersection of 30th Street and Upas Street where an hours-long standoff took place.RELATED: Police identify Midway District shooting victim, suspect of North Park standoff?After SWAT teams entered an apartment in the area, they didn’t find Martinez. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are seeking the public's help identifying two armed robbery suspects they say hit a Carmel Valley gas station last month.A man entered the Shell gas station located at 3861 Valley Centre Drive just after 11 p.m. on Oct. 25, San Diego Police (SDPD) said in a release. The man asked the station clerk to use the bathroom and when he returned, he was armed with a machete and wearing a mask.The man demanded money from the cash register and the clerk complied, SDPD said.The man then fled westbound from the gas station.Police said the clerk noticed a woman driving a gold-colored pickup truck, believed to be a Toyota Tacoma with an extended cab, toward the man as he was running away. The clerk told police he had recognized the man and woman inside the store a few days prior to the robbery.The man described as white, in his late 20s to mid-30s, about 5-foot-7, and with medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white California bear on the front, blue jeans, a dark grey or blue baseball cap with "Ford" on it, and blue Keds shoes.He was also carrying a green backpack and has a wraparound band-style tattoo on his left arm.The woman was described as white, in her 40s, with long dark hair, and was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.Anyone with information is asked to call SDPD's robbery unit at 619-531-2299 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 1435

  

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Portable restrooms to combat the hepatitis A outbreak are being installed in downtown San Diego for the homeless.The City of San Diego is providing restrooms, hand-washing stations and security guards to stop the spread of the disease.The restrooms will be cleaned twice a day.RELATED: How to tell if you have hepatitis AKen Slusher, a homeless Navy veteran, has used the restrooms twice since the City installed them on C St. and First Ave.Slasher is concerned the restrooms won’t be around long.Despite the 24/7 security, Slusher said he found a needle on the floor during one of his trips to the restroom.RELATED: Los Angeles hepatitis A cases linked to San Diego outbreak“It was already used, the cap was off, the needle was exposed.
