SUFFOLK COUNTY, N.Y. -- Dozens of people tested positive for the coronavirus and hundreds were quarantined after an outbreak in Suffolk County, New York, linked to a sweet 16 party, County Executive Steve Bellone said Tuesday.The party took place at the Miller Place Inn on Sept. 25, with a guest list of 81 people.The Miller Place Inn was fined ,000 for violating state executive orders and health laws, and ,000 for violating county rules.Several positive COVID-19 cases in the Sachem School District were reported to the county on Sept. 30, and during the course of their investigation, the county discovered that the cases were connected to the sweet 16 party.Following a contact tracing investigation, the county identified 37 positive cases connected to the party; 270 people were told to quarantine.It's the first time a businesses was fined by the Suffolk County Health Department over COVID-19-related violations.Bellone said that for the county, this qualifies as a super spreader event.“This was an egregious violation and should serve as a stark reminder of the consequences that exist for flouting COVID-19 protocols,” said Bellone. “These rules and regulations exist for a reason - to keep New Yorkers safe - and we all have an obligation to act responsibly.”This story was originally published by Corey Crockett at WPIX. 1348

TEMECULA, Calif. (KGTV) - A three-alarm fire injured two people and prompted the evacuation of Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula Monday. The fire broke out in an elevator shaft in the main resort complex just after 11 a.m., Riverside County Fire Department officials said. Pechanga spokeswoman Ciara Green told City News Service that the flames were confined to an elevator portal "in the original tower," which underwent a major expansion two years ago. One person suffered from burns and another suffered smoke inhalation. The burn victim was taken to Temecula Valley Hospital in stable condition, according to reports from the scene. "Out of an abundance of caution, team members and guests in the hotel tower were evacuated," Green said. "The incident was not near the casino." TAMPA, Fla. — In an ironic twist, a bond hearing for the Tampa teen accused of hacking the Twitter accounts of politicians, celebrities and technology moguls got hacked this week.The bond hearing took place over Zoom. During the hearing, the judge and attorneys were interrupted several times with people shouting racial slurs, playing music and showing pornographic images.Seventeen-year-old Graham Clark is accused of using the hijacked Twitter accounts to scam people around the world out of more than 0,000 in Bitcoin.The accounts included Bill Gates, Barack Obama and Elon Musk. Prosecutors believe Clark got access by convincing a Twitter employee he was a coworker. He faces numerous charges including 17 counts of communications fraud and 11 counts of fraudulent use of personal information.Clark was arrested Friday and entered the not-guilty pleas Tuesday.The judge denied a motion to reduce Clark's bond. (AP) -- Sheriff's officials in Florida say a 24-year-old South Carolina man is accused of invading the home of a WWE star near Tampa.Phillip Thomas II was arrested Sunday after officials say he entered the home of wrestler Sonya Deville, setting off a security alarm.Hillsborough Sheriff's officials say the 26-year-old victim, real name Daria Berenato, spotted Thomas on the property after the alarm rang and called 911 as she fled with a guest in a car.Arriving deputies found Thomas at the home with a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape and mace. He was arrested pending a Monday court hearing on armed kidnapping and other charges. 655
