The birthday party for a 5-year-old Davenport, Iowa boy turned into one he’ll never forget when several officers from the Davenport Police Department accepted his invitation to attend.Jackie Martin took to Facebook to share the story of her son, Brayden, and his love for police officers. According to Martin, he loves everything about them, so it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise when Brayden decided he wanted to have a police officer-themed birthday party this year.Brayden personally delivered invitations to the police station in hopes of getting to see a squad car.But what he got in return was so much more.Over the course of the day, seven different officers made their way to Brayden’s party. Target announced Monday that it will not open stores on Thanksgiving this fall due to the coronavirus pandemic.The chain follows in the footsteps of Walmart, who made a similar announcement last week.Target added in its press release that it plans to extend holiday sale prices by several weeks. The 2020 holiday shopping season will be different from all other years due to the coronavirus pandemic.Target on Thursday became the latest major retailer to outline how it will attempt to keep is employees safe during the busy holiday shopping season.For one, Target expects to match 2019 hiring levels despite a downtrodden economy. The company said that it will double its staff dedicated to contactless shopping options, like its “Drive Up” service.Target said that seasonal employees will be given free access to virtual doctor visits through the end of the year, backup daycare, mental health services, and PPE. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — On Friday, a judge ruled that patients approved to use medical marijuana will be allowed to smoke it.Florida voters legalized medical marijuana in 2016. The only mention of smoking in the amendment’s language and in an intent document during the 2016 campaign was that the Legislature and local governments could restrict it in public places.The Legislature last year passed enacting laws that banned the sale of smoking products, saying that it poses a health risk.Orlando lawyer and medical-marijuana advocate John Morgan filed a lawsuit that brought the case in front of a Tallahassee judge who ruled that Florida's current smokable weed prohibition is unconstitutional. TEMPE, Ariz. — An Arizona woman said a man posing as a Lyft driver tried luring her into his car. Around 9 p.m. Saturday, Bradie Trippi was waiting to be picked up in a parking lot in Tempe, Arizona. The Lyft app showed her driver was a minute away when a man in a gold Infiniti sedan pulled up next to her, she said. “He says, ‘I’m your Lyft’ and then took a phone, flashed it in my face,” Trippi told KNXV. She said the man showed her the passenger app — not the driver app — and the letter “f” of the “Lyft” emblem on his car was backward. Given the fact the man did not match the photo of her driver or description of her driver’s car, Trippi declined to get in the car. “He got aggressive,” she said. “Told me to get in the car, he’s gonna kill me, called me the ‘b word’, started yelling the ‘f word’ at me — I got kind of scared.”When her actual Lyft driver arrived, Trippi said the man sped off. Lyft and Uber spokespeople told KNXV that passengers should always check to make sure the photo of their driver, description of the vehicle and license plate match up before getting inside. Passengers should ask open-ended questions to their driver, like “who are you here to pick up?” Instead of “Are you here to pick up [name]?”Trippi and her actual Lyft driver described the imposter driver as a bald, African-American man with an accent.
