Medical patients in need of emergency care in especially hilly or rocky terrain in the United Kingdom could soon be visited by a paramedic wearing a jetpack. The Great North Air Ambulance Service, GNAAS, is a non-profit emergency service that operates in the north of England. Their coverage area includes some of the mountainous terrain in the country. Thanks to a partnership with Gravity Industries, reaching patients in this rough terrain could get a lot faster, boosted by a jet suit.Recently, a test flight of the jet suit in a simulated emergency rescue situation showed a huge difference in travel time. The test pilot arrived in 90 seconds, where it would take emergency responders roughly 25 minutes to reach by foot. 733
MARTINEZ, Calif. (AP) — Anti-racism protesters took to the streets Sunday in a San Francisco Bay Area city where two people were charged with hate crimes after allegedly defacing a city-sanctioned “Black Lives Matter” mural. The two were charged July 7, the same day that police in Martinez were called to investigate after someone painted “White Lives Matter” on a city street. Activists organized Sunday’s march after police found flyers threatening Black Lives Matter supporters in the name of a white-power group. Police are investigating the “White Lives Matter” graffiti. Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former personal attorney, pleaded guilty in Manhattan federal court Tuesday to eight criminal counts, admitting that "in coordination and at the direction of a candidate for federal office" he acted to keep information that would have been harmful to the candidate and the campaign from becoming public during the 2016 election cycle. The charges against Cohen, an attorney for Trump until earlier this year and a member of his inner circle throughout his presidential campaign, bring an end to a months-long investigation by the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. And they expose, through the criminal information filed against Cohen in court, that he acted with Trump and his allies, including David Pecker, the CEO of the National Enquirer's publisher, American Media Inc., to suppress potentially damaging claims against the now-President.Though Trump himself isn't named, the court filing refers to an Individual-1, who by January 2017 had become president of the United States. The counts against Cohen included tax fraud, false statements to a bank and campaign finance violations tied to his work for Trump, including payments Cohen made or helped orchestrate that were designed to silence women who claimed affairs with the then-candidate. 1319
Members of the Oakland Raiders have denied a claim from the wife of an NFL player that members of the Raiders offensive line allowed quarterback Derek Carr to get hurt due to a dispute over national anthem protests.Miko Grimes, wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Brent Grimes and co-star of the reality show "Baller Wives" on VH1, claimed Carr's injury during a game earlier this season was directly related to an anthem dispute with his teammates."The reason Derek Carr got injured is because the Raiders' offensive line allowed him to get injured because he was against them protesting," Grimes said on Revolt TV, a digital network created by Sean "Diddy" Combs.Grimes said Carr was opposed to players sitting or kneeling during the national anthem, which led to a pregame dispute with members of the Raiders' offensive line, the only all-minority offensive line in the NFL. 899
