BEIJING, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday said the central task in China-Russia ties is to translate the high-level political relationship into more pragmatic cooperation and coordination in international affairs.
The two sides should also be pioneering and innovative in developing new highlights in cultural exchange, to keep enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples, he said, adding that they should also stick to mutual respect and equality, properly handle sensitive issues to ensure sustained, healthy and stable development of China-Denmark relations, he said.
BEIJING, May 5 (Xinhua) -- China and Russia on Thursday agreed to strengthen their parliamentary cooperation to contribute more for the bilateral relations.
He said Laos will also actively participate in the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation mechanism that was started earlier this year.
"The United States requests China to comply with UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), yet it is not a signatory to the treaty. Furthermore, Washington claimed that it does not take sides on the South China Sea issue but recently the U.S. State Department publicly criticized China, saying that Beijing's claim of sovereignty does not conform to the international law."
