(KGTV) — A crash victim is hoping to track down the roadside "angel" who went above and beyond.On Friday afternoon just east of the I-15 on Old Castle Road in Valley Center, Sarah Rozenko says she was in her Volvo sedan, driving back from the grocery store and squarely in her lane. "It was like being hit with a dump truck full force," said Rozenko.It wasn't a dump truck, but a car, that hit the side of her car. It sent her spinning into a rocky embankment. She climbed out, bruised and dazed."She came out of nowhere and pulled up," said Rozenko.'She' was a passerby who told Rozenko she was an EMT. The woman, believed in her 40s or 50s, can be seen her in a photo snapped by Rozenko of the crash scene."Immediately took over calming me down, checking me out. Took over phone conversation with 9-1-1, as I was so shook up. She covered me with a blanket," said Rozenko.Rozeno says in her shock, she kept telling the woman about the surprise dinner she had planned for her husband. The stranger listened, and calmed her down."Just reassuring. I believe I would have had a panic attack had she not been there," said Rozenko.About 15 minutes after the stranger arrived, so did the firefighters and paramedics. There was a hurried exchange. "She yelled, 'What's your address?' as I am being loaded into the ambulance. I shouted it to her," said Rozenko.Some nine hours later, after Rozenko returned home from the hospital, she learned the mystery woman had collected her belongings from the car - along with all the groceries - and dropped it all off at her home with her landlord. "I was blown away. It's not every day that somebody goes out of their way to do something for you. She's my road accident angel for sure," said Rozenko.Now she's on a mission to find her angel."I really want to thank you thank you, thank you, thank you. (KGTV) -- Two people died early Sunday morning after a wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another vehicle shortly after a pursuit.The incident began when Valley Center Sheriff’s Deputies located a Honda Accord reported stolen out of Escondido.Deputies began pursuing the vehicle but, due to weather conditions and speed, decided to end the pursuit.RELATED: CHP investigates scene of fatal wrong-way crash on I-5 off-rampAuthorities continued to track the suspect using areal support. VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) — A North County student was arrested Friday after a reported school threat.Administrators at Oak Glen High School in Valley Center learned of a potential threat from a suspended, 15-year-old student at about 8 a.m., San Diego Sheriff's Department said. Deputies did not elaborate on the nature of the threat.The high school and nearby Valley Center High were placed in a lock down as deputies responded. Deputies identified the student and soon located and arrested the suspect.SDSO said a search of the student's home was conducted, but no weapons were located.Both high schools were released from their lock downs just after 9 a.m.The student has been booked into Juvenile Hall, SDSO said. VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) — A nine-hour standoff between San Diego SWAT officers and a Valley Center man ended with the suspect peacefully surrendering to authorities.William Halverson was arrested hours after the standoff unfolded in the early hours Saturday. He faces multiple charges, including domestic violence, elder abuse, and felon in possession of a firearm, according to San Diego Sheriff's Department.Deputies were called to a home in the 12000 block of Lilac Knolls Road just after 10 p.m. Friday over a verbal argument. When authorities contacted the victim inside the residence, they say they learned a dependent adult was immobilized inside.Halverson made several statements he would "kill anyone who come on his property, including law enforcement," SDSO says. The victim heard Halverson chamber a shotgun, deputies say, and knew of multiple weapons inside the house.A SWAT unit and SDSO Crisis Negotiation Team responded and urged Halverson to surrender.Halverson was arrested at about 9 a.m. and booked into Vista Detention Facility. 1062
