(AP) — Authorities say three members of a family were injured, one critically, when they were ejected from the log ride at a Southern California amusement park.Fire officials say the ride malfunctioned and one of the log-shaped vessels overturned Saturday at Castle Park in Riverside.Officials say riders were thrown from the vessel and trapped in the water.Fire Capt. Brian Guzzetta says a woman was hospitalized in critical condition. A man and 10-year-old boy were treated at a hospital for minor injuries.Guzzetta says a pump apparently malfunctioned, preventing the flow of water onto the track. He says when the log descended from one of the falls, there wasn't enough water to slow it down and it crashed.The log ride is closed during an investigation but Castle Park will remain open through the weekend. 838

(KGTV) -- One of the California Highway Patrol officers wounded during a shootout in Riverside Monday evening died and two others remain hospitalized Tuesday, according to the CHP.According to Riverside authorities, the shooting happened around 5:35 p.m. on the 215 Freeway near Box Springs Boulevard and Eastridge Avenue. (AP) — California Democratic Party Chairman Eric Bauman was accused of inappropriate behavior on a campaign bus days before the Nov. 6 election, a Democratic official said Tuesday, a day after Bauman took a leave of absence.Bauman was among those aboard a bus during a statewide get-out-the-vote tour. Two young women on the bus reported alcohol was consumed and inappropriate sex talk occurred on Nov. 1, said David Campos, chairman of the San Francisco Democratic Party.The bus was scheduled to arrive in San Francisco the next day at an event with U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.
