She says they've stuck together, worked hard "...and they're the ones practicing in all that equipment in 115 degrees in the summer and they don't get to use the field," Ms. Crawford says.The Rancho field is slated to be replaced for next season.In the meantime, the Holzhauers say Rancho can use the ,000 wherever it's most needed for athletics.And they challenge others to join in and help out."It's important to remember we have a lot of schools in other areas that need help. With over 160 vaccines in development, the race to defeat COVID-19 continues.A California company hopes to deliver its vaccine to your mailbox; one that is pain-free and doesn't require a needle and syringe."One of the things I wanted to do was make vaccines more patient-friendly, so they don't hurt and you're not afraid to take them," said Dr. Dan Henderson, a virologist and the CEO of Verndari, Inc.The biopharmaceutical company is based in Napa, California. Dr. Henderson originally came to the wine country to retire but stepped back into the lab during the Ebola crisis. He says some adults avoid vaccines because of a fear of needles, so Verndari set out to do something different. They created the VaxiPatch, a single-dose vaccination kit that uses a dermal patch with a metal microneedle array to deliver vaccines. Once applied, the person wears the patch like a Band-Aid for five minutes. The vaccine uses the COVID-19 "spike" protein that enables the virus to infect human cells and works to enhance a person's immune person.Unlike traditional vaccines, the patch doesn't need to be refrigerated, which Henderson says would make it easier and cheaper to send to developing countries. The company initially set out to make a flu vaccine but switched gears during the pandemic; they continue to adapt to the world's changing needs. "Now, for the First World, it's a shelter-in-place vaccine," said Henderson.They're working with the FDA to see if it could be mailed to your home. The vaccine would leave a temporary blue mark so the patient could take a photo and send it to their health care provider as proof of vaccination. is in jail and being charged with sexual abuse of a minor.Brandon Taulbee pleaded not guilty in Powell County Circuit Court in Kentucky on Wednesday afternoon. Just nine months ago, Taulbee was teaching industrial maintenance to Powell County High School students, until the principal said he resigned. The principal said that he is not able to discuss why Taulbee resigned due to confidentiality. A grand jury recently returned an indictment that reads in that same month, March 2019, Taulbee subjected a child to sexual contact and intentionally abused the child.He pleaded not guilty to both felony charges.In connection to this case, the grand jury also charged Tina Bryant with failure to report child abuse, wanton endangerment and abandoning a child. Both Taulbee and Bryant have the same attorney, which the judge questions, citing a potential conflict of interest.The judge ordered Taulbee to not contact Bryant. Shortly after, he ordered Taulbee to be transferred to the Montgomery County Detention Center.Since the indictment was filed, Taublee was charged with tampering with a witness.The arrest warrant reads that after Taulbee learned he was indicted, he sent a threatening message to a Stanton Police officer who is listed as a witness in his case.Taulbee is due in court for the tampering charge on Friday.Next Wednesday, he returns to Circuit Court for a pre-trial conference concerning the sexual abuse and criminal abuse felony charges.Both Taulbee and Bryant turned down our request for an interview. 1523

on Interstate 41/94 killed two semi truck drivers and seriously injured two other people.Racine County Sheriff Chris Schmaling said as a semi truck heading south on the interstate tried to change lanes they hit a construction barrier that pushed the median into the northbound lanes.Three other passenger vehicles heading north collided as a result. Schmaling said a second semi truck heading north tried to avoid the collision causing it to veer off the road and crashed before bursting into flames.The sheriff said they received several 911 calls reporting the crash and explosions. He attributed the explosion sounds to tires in the crash heating up then blowing up."In my 24 years on this job and this is the worst accident I’ve ever been a part of," said Schmaling.The crash shut down I-94 and frontage roads to traffic for several hours causing lenthy back ups. The sheriff said emergency responders had difficulty getting to the scene.Schmaling urged drivers to be cautious driving in extreme construction zones, adding a small mistake can have a devastating impact."These are interstate speeds were talking about and ultimately it cost him his life and the life of another human being, and I hope and pray that the lives of the others are right now in the hospital getting care don’t lose their lives as well.
