BEIJING, June 15 (Xinhua) -- China is ready to strengthen cooperation with Laos in fighting the COVID-19 epidemic, said General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday.
A total of 107 law enforcement officers from the four countries participated in the mission aboard four vessels, which navigated 654 km in four days and three nights, according to the Yunnan provincial public security department.
Since the COVID-19 outbreak, China and the European Union (EU) have supported and helped each other, Xi said, noting that China is willing to join hands with the European side to push for a more stable and mature relationship in the post-pandemic era and lift their ties to a new height.
The ministry also urged local authorities to improve publicity on road safety and promote the habit of wearing helmet among scooter riders.
China stands ready to work with Saudi Arabia to put the consensus between the two countries' heads of state into practice, and promote greater development of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership, he added.
