LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A hospital parking lot isn’t the typical place for a family reunion, but after 69 days in the hospital, it was the perfect place for the Rael family to gather to celebrate the fact that Wanda Vigil is now going home.Wanda spend 69 days at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood battling COVID-19 — 42 of them on a ventilator.“She’s a fighter. We were told 20 days in she probably wasn’t going to make it,” brother Alan Rael said.Alan and about two dozen family members gathered in the parking lot of St. Anthony’s on Thursday as Wanda was discharged from the hospital.“It’s a beautiful thing. It’s miraculous,” sister Linda Deborah Sanchez said.Hospital workers lined the lobby in a socially distanced fashion to clap and cheer as Wanda was wheeled out. Her family was waiting outside with signs and hugs.“I am so grateful,” Wanda said.She still has a damaged vocal cord, meaning she can only whisper, and her family acknowledged that she had plenty of recovery still to go.“She still has a journey ahead of her, but she’s alive,” Sanchez said.“My heart is so happy. I’m so happy. My family has been there through thick and thin,” Wanda said.Multiple members of the Rael family were diagnosed with COVID-19, and all recovered. They wanted to send the message that though this day was a happy one, and the vaccine is now being distributed, there are still many people in the hospital fighting the virus.“It’s a serious thing. LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials have raised the budget to .9 billion for the 65,000-seat Las Vegas Stadium being built for the NFL's relocated Raiders and UNLV football.The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the stadium authority board on Thursday approved million in construction additions. They include 20 more suites and a field-level club area to be paid for by personal and club seat sales that weren't part of the original budget.The stadium is due to open in 2020 just off the Las Vegas Strip. Taxpayers are funding 0 million of the project.Plans call for a translucent roof, a natural grass field and sliding doors that can open to view the Strip.The facility will be managed by a division of live-entertainment company AEG.Project officials say construction is about halfway complete. 803

LAS VEGAS (KGTV) -- Friends of a San Diego pilot killed in a Las Vegas plane crash in late October said he had years of experience.Friends identified the pilot as Robert Golo.The passenger, 35-year-old Tyrone Calabar, was also killed.“It was kind of a shock to everybody. We still can’t believe it,” said fellow pilot and Golo’s friend, Flynn Ortiz. “He was so well known and so well respected.”On the morning of October 29th, the plane crashed near Raven Avenue, several miles southwest of the Las Vegas strip. Witnesses told the Clark County Fire Department they saw the plane flying low before hearing the crash.The plane was supposed to be heading back to Gillespie Field.Ortiz said he and Golo’s planes were parked next to each other at Gillespie Field. “I’ve known him for a couple years. I’ve flown with him quite a bit,” Ortiz said.Ortiz said because of his charter license, Golo was under more scrutiny and underwent more inspections. “He owned the airplane that was involved in the accident, another twin-engine airplane, and a small jet. He was very well experienced.”According to Golo’s LinkedIn page, he had operated Air Charter Express since the late 1980s.Both the NTSB and the FAA are investigating. A preliminary report is set to be released in the upcoming days. The official cause of the accident likely will not come for at least a year, according to the NTSB. 1388
