Lisa Palmer, a former student at Hunter College in New York, hasn't taken classes or paid tuition since 2016, but she's still living the college lifestyle.According to the New York Post, Palmer has continued to live in her dorm room, despite repeated demands that she vacate. Palmer originally enrolled at Hunter College in 2010, after briefly attending St. John's University in New York. In 2016, Hunter College claims that Palmer dropped out of school — but Palmer maintains that the school wouldn't allow her to register for classes after she disputed her tuition bill.But even after Palmer stopped taking classes, she remained in her 100-square-foot dorm room. She continued to live in the room despite receiving an eviction notice in June 2016. Hunter College stepped up the fight in fall 2017, when an attorney sent a letter to Palmer requiring her to vacate the premises by Oct. 31.Palmer told the Post she will continue to fight the eviction — despite saying that she feels dorm life is "really lonely" for someone in her 30s. The case is currently being weighed by the Manhattan Supreme Court.Alex Hider is a writer for the E.W. (KGTV) - A Camp Pendleton Marine is suspected of shooting and killing his estranged wife at a home in Laguna Hills, Orange County Sheriff's Detectives said Friday.Jerel Boykins, 26, was detained by Marine Corps NCIS on base Thursday afternoon, just hours after deputies found his wife's body.Deputies were conducting a welfare check at the home on Via Lomas in Laguna Hills when they discovered the 23-year-old woman with multiple gunshot wounds.Boykins is being held at the Orange County Jail in lieu of million bail.Anyone with information should call Orange County Crimestoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.  646

(KGTV) -- "As young as I can remember my mom always helped out less fortunate people in the community, I remember delivering boxes of frozen hamburgers and roasts and things like that." Giving back are two simple words but for Linda Anderson, those words bring her back to childhood, and the memory of her late mother."We had a neighbor that was elderly and my mom would cook them meals and bring them over there, and she always had some little old lady in town that she would bring to their doctor's appointments. She'd bring them food, take them grocery shopping and clean their house," Linda recalled.But as Linda's mother got older, she was no longer on the giving, but on the receiving end. She received food and other essentials from Meals on Wheels, a nationwide organization that helped seniors living along, who are trying to do things on their own."They really made a big difference between her able to live at home independently, than being placed in a care facility," said Erica Peterson, Linda's friend.When Linda's mother passed, they wanted to honor her in a way that would make her smile, even from above. They created over a thousand gift bags with toiletries, office supplies and other goodies thanks to donations that were made in her honor."I think it'd mean a lot to her, I think it'd make her feel very loved and appreciated," said Linda. She added they were helping an organization that helped others, just like her mother did."They really need a lot of help especially during pandemic. They've had a lot of issues and they haven't seen a lot of donations they regularly have. I hope it puts a smile on their face. I know when my mom got a visitor and got a gift it always put a smile on her face. I think that's what we're trying to do, pay it forward and put a little bright spot in someones life." 1849

LEIMERT PARK (CNS) - A 5-year-old boy was killed Wednesday when he apparently found a gun that went off in his hands inside a Leimert Park home. Los Angeles police responded at 1:15 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the home in the 2000 block of Van Ness Avenue, and the child was found inside. ``Initially it appears to be a self-inflicted'' gunshot, an LAPD official told City News Service. Lawyers for President Donald Trump recently provided the special counsel's office with documents in an attempt to limit the scope of an interview between Trump and special counsel Robert Mueller, The Washington Post reported Monday.Two people familiar with the situation told the Post that Trump's attorneys are worried that the President could get into trouble during a lengthy interview with the special counsel, and therefore provided "written descriptions" of moments under investigation to limit some of the questioning.News of the attempt by Trump's attorneys came after a weekend where the President railed repeatedly?against the Russia investigation, implying the special counsel team is politically biased against him and saying the probe itself should never have begun.Additionally, John Dowd, a lawyer for Trump, said in a statement?on Saturday that he prayed Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein would end the investigation.
