SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police officers arrested a man for attacking a four-year-old girl outside an apartment complex on the 4300 block of 50th Street.According to witnesses, the little girl’s father was dropping the girl off at her grandmother’s home around 11:30. Before the grandmother could walk the four-year-old through the security gates of her complex, a stranger attacked the child from behind.A neighbor, who only asked to use his first name, Robert, says he heard someone calling for the help, so he came outside. He says he saw the grandmother had gotten through the gate, but the father and another neighbor were outside of the entrance trying to hold off the attacker. Robert felt compelled to step in.“He came at me, and it seemed like he was going for someone, and that someone was a child,” he said, “so I had no other recourse, I hit him once he went down. He bit my leg. He got up, and he started coming after me.”But the man didn’t stay down, instead continued to attack.“Very very vicious, he had a very crazy look,” Robert said. “He wasn’t saying anything, he was grunting like a feral animal. He was exceptionally strong. He just wouldn’t quit, even when the police got here, he was very very strong.”Robert says he had no idea why he was trying to hurt the little girl but said the man might have been under the influence of something.Police arrested the suspect.Robert recalled seeing red marks around the little girl’s neck but said she was okay though visibly shaken.She is home with her parents. 1541

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego police are searching for two suspects involved in a knife attack in Bay Terraces early Sunday morning that left a 30-year-old man hospitalized.The assault happened at around 4:25 a.m. in the 6900 block of Paradise Valley Road, said Ofc. Tony Martinez, San Diego Police Department The victim told police he was confronted by two men who asked him for a cigarette."An argument ensued, and during the argument, the victim was stabbed multiple times," Martinez said.Both suspects fled in a white sedan-type vehicle, according to Martinez.The victim suffered a stab wound to the neck, the left bicep and lacerations to his nose, jaw and back, Martinez said. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition is unknown at this time but Martinez said he is expected to survive.The two men were described as Hispanic between 20 and 30 years old. One of the suspects stands about 6- foot, 2-inches tall weighing 180 pounds with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, a black jacket and blue jeans.The second suspect stands about 6-feet tall weighing 200 pounds with a heavy build. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego business leaders reacted with alarm to President Trump's plan to slap tariffs on goods imported from Mexico.On June 10, the President plans to place a 5% tariff on items like avocados, tomatoes, cars and medical devices that come from south of the border. They would increase until reaching 25% on Oct 1. Trump says the tariffs would continue until Mexico addresses the issue of migrants at the border. The San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce has come out strong against the tariffs. The Chamber says Mexico is San Diego's biggest trade partner, with a .5 billion manufacturing supply chain that's now at risk. Jerry Sanders, the chamber's CEO, says every manufacturing job in Tijuana leads to half a new job in San Diego. "If consumers cut back because of the price of goods, that means there will be fewer jobs and there will be less production on both sides of the border," he said. Some consumers already appear wary. Mancher Nasar, who lives in Rancho Bernardo, said he expects his grocery bill to rise as the tariffs kick in. "I'm concerned about middle class families," he said. "You're putting a 25% tariff but you're not getting 25% more in your paycheck."University of San Diego economist Alan Gin said tariffs are normally used for economic purposes, not political ones. "This is as far out as we've ever seen in the use of tariffs," Gin said. Gin said San Diegans will feel them, but that states like Texas and New Mexico will fare worse. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Harbor Police have cited a charter company for violating the county's health order. A sergeant for Harbor PD confirmed with 10News that Flagship Cruises and Events was cited for being in violation. The county health order states that recreational boating is allowed provided all occupants of a boat are from the same household.10News cameras were rolling as people walked onto the Flagship Cruises and Events dock and onto the company's Spirit of San Diego, capturing the boat's departure and arrival back into the bay. It is unclear if those boarding were all members of one family. 10News reached out to the company and a spokesperson sent us a picture of the county health order saying "We are stating we are part of section 14E, not C. That section states in part, "other public or private outdoor recreational facilities (other than community pools per State order), including recreational equipment (such as bicycle, boat, kayak, equestrian and surfboard) rentals may be open for limited use."Flagship's website states, "We are Open" and has several sections outlining how they are operating during the pandemic. One section states that masks are required for passengers and everyone must respect six-feet social distancing guidelines. The website also states that all employees will be in masks, gloves and screen upon arrival. Also adding that the company is limiting the number of passengers per cruise to allow for maximum distancing and that they've invested in new machinery to sanitize all chairs between cruises. Harbor Police says the citation for violating the county health order has a maximum fine of a thousand dollars and up to a year in jail. 1702

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Fire-Rescue crews removed a body from Chollas Lake Monday, fire officials said. The man, identified only as Hispanic and in his mid- to late 20s, was found about noon at the lake at 5850 College Grove Drive in the Oak Park neighborhood. Brianna Yasel and her friends were at the lake and realized something was wrong."I couldn't tell what it was; it looked like a rock to me. Once they pulled it out and flipped it over, my friend was able to see the hand at first and it did look like he was under the water for a while. He just didn't look too good," said Yasel."The body was discovered almost in the center of the lake; a passerby said it looked somewhat suspicious. He noticed it moved by an rock cropping," said San Diego Police Lt. Ernesto Servin.San Diego Police are investigating to determine the cause of death and the man’s identity, according to San Diego Fire-Rescue. The Medical Examiner was also called to the scene.Chollas Lake, which served as a reservoir from 1901 to 1966, is open during daylight hours for recreation. The lake was closed Monday due to the investigation."It was crazy because we always come here because it's such a peaceful place. It's very sad actually," said Servin. 1241
