A video appears to show a Westland Police Officer using a Taser on a man as he is holding his two-month-old baby. The incident happened on Friday night where neighbors were having a barbecue. Witnesses said police arrived because of a call about a fight. “We were just barbecuing, and we saw the cops come up,” neighbor Kelvin Williams said. “They came up and asked us who was fighting. We were like, ‘You got the wrong house.’”Williams said they didn’t understand what the officers meant. “At that point, my friend Ray got a little agitated like you’re coming over to my house, my property and you're asking me about something I don’t know about,” Williams said. According to witnesses, Ray Brown then began to argue with officers. Williams said that is when he decided to record video on his cell phone. In the video, officers told Brown was going to be arrested, then ordered Brown's son to be taken away from the scene. “That’s my child. He can be exactly where he’s at. Give me my child. Give me my child,” Brown said. Officers then crowd into Brown with a taser out. Nichole Skidmore, Brown’s girlfriend, and mother of two-month-old Christopher tried to take the baby.It appears in the video that Brown was still holding Christopher and in the process of passing him to Skidmore when officers deployed a Taser. “I had to catch the baby," Skidmore said. "I was in the street talking with the cops. I had to come over. The taser is on this side of him, and the baby is over here. As soon as they start tasing him the baby flew out of his hands and I had to grab him, or he would have fell.”Brown was arrested and placed in custody soon after that. According to a Facebook post by the Westland Police Community Partnership, Brown attempted to grab his child only after learning he would be arrested. The department says that officers chose to deploy a Taser due to the "close quarters," and that the child was also in the hands of the mother at the time the Taser was used.The Community Partnership also stated that a "thorough internal investigation" would be conducted.  2158

A special guide dog has reinvigorated Anastasia Pagonis' zest for life and her swimming career.After a devastating diagnosis and the loss of her sight, it was Radar that helped pick her back up.Pagonis started losing her vision when she was 14 years old. Her parents signed her up for swimming and she excelled, but when she lost her sight completely, she didn't want to get back in the pool at all.Things changed once Anastasia received a guide dog from Puppies with a Purpose."Radar is my guide dog. He is honestly the best thing that has happened to me. I'm so happy to have him in my life." Radar has also given Anastasia the confidence to get back in the pool "When I got back in the water and just, like, felt the chlorine on my skin, I knew that this is what I wanted to do. I knew that I was going to do anything I could possibly do to get me where I wanted to be. And that's Tokyo 2021." A security camera captured video of an officer in Asyut, Egypt catching a 5-year-old boy who jumped off a third-story balcony on Saturday. The video was released by Egypt's Ministry of Interior. In the video, three officers are seen looking up, as one officer grabs some fabric. A few seconds later, the boy, identified by CBS News as Ammar Motaz Abd El-Salam, lands into the arms of Kameel Fathy Geed, 45. The force of the boy falling was enough to knock over the officer. Officer, with the boy in his arms, falls to the ground, but his fall was softened by the fabric. The Ministry of Interior said that no one suffered any major injuries. In an interview with Egyptian TV network Dream TV, the boy's mother said El-Salem reportedly climbed onto a small table during a party. The boy then toppled, forcing the officers to spring into action. The mother added that no one at the party noticed. 942

A Nashville doggie day care has filed a lawsuit for million against people who they said have destroyed their reputation. They said online posts in a popular neighborhood Facebook page just weren't true.The Dog Spot in East Nashville filed the lawsuit for libel, fraud and other charges against Jamie Bayer and Bari Rachel Miley Hardin for comments they made on the East Nashville Facebook page starting last month.According to the lawsuit, Bayer posted in part: "...how many dogs have died at The Dog Spot?"  Adding, "I found out two dogs died there. Since then I've heard up to four, and recently even seven."The lawsuit says, among other things, Hardin posted "Lots of dogs have been killed there" and "people can't talk when they've been paid off."The lawsuit from The Dog spot says "These are false statements.""It's not acceptable, its not freedom of speech. you cannot yell fire in a movie theater," said Chad Baker, one of the owners of The Dog Spot. "Just because it's Facebook, doesn't mean you can go on, and say things that are not true, and what's being said about us is not true."There has been at least one dog death at the day care. Rachael Waldrop's Chihuahua "Hall" died after an incident with a larger dog last year.
