Known as the “circus cruelty” bill, it would stop Gil and Nancy Riegler from the Oasis Camel Dairy from transporting camels to events like parades, fairs, or Christmas nativity shows. Publix has suspended its political contributions as it reevaluates its giving processes, the national grocery chain said in a statement on Friday. The announcement comes days after Parkland student activist David Hogg called for a "die-in" at the grocery store to protest its support for a Florida gubernatorial candidate backed by the National Rifle Association."We regret that our contributions have led to a divide in our community. Recreational marijuana is now legal in Michigan after voters passed Proposal 1 during the midterm elections on Tuesday.The proposal was one of the most-talked-about issues on the ballot. It allows anyone 21 and older to legally carry 2.5 ounces of marijuana. “Obviously the results of today’s election were not what we hoped for.
