(KGTV) — Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of summer for most San Diegans.But there's still plenty of local theme park fun to pack into the week before kids head back to school.Disneyland, SeaWorld San Diego, Legoland, and other parks still have admission discounts available for those last-minute family trips to celebrate the end of summer.Many theme parks are also running special event festivities for guests geared toward the summer and fall — you get the best of both seasons!Here's a look at this Labor Day's fun at our region's theme parks:Disneyland: There's still time to catch the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland, and get a taste of this season's Halloween festivities at Disneyland. (KGTV) — Texas Border Patrol agents found themselves caring for an 18-month-old child after her mother was taken to the hospital after crossing the border illegally.The infant was taken into Border Patrol's care on Tuesday after a pregnant Honduran woman traveling with the girl was caught crossing the border, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.The woman was experiencing abdominal pain and taken to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center. While the mother received care, agents looked after the child at Uvalde Border Patrol Station until her mother was released.“I am proud of the agents and staff who continue to show great compassion during this humanitarian crisis on our southern border,” Del Rio Sector Chief Patrol Agent Felix Chavez said in a release. “However, our agents are continually pulled from their enforcement duties to watch over people at hospitals, and in this case a child while her mother was receiving care.”The mother was eventually allowed to leave from the hospital and reunited with her child, CBP said. (KGTV) – The Drug Enforcement Administration in Los Angeles County announced a record-breaking seizure of narcotics on Wednesday.The DEA’s Los Angeles Division stated agents seized about 893 pounds of cocaine, 13 pounds of heroin, and 2,224 pounds of methamphetamine.The meth seizure is the largest domestic methamphetamine seizure in DEA history, officials said.DEA Acting Administrator Timothy Shea said, "This is enough dope to prove a dose of meth for every man, women and child in the United States and Mexico. Study after study shows that where there is meth addiction, there is also an uptick in violent crime, including robberies, assaults and murders."Operation Crystal Shield is a nationwide effort involving 70 to 80 investigators in nine cities including Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix and Atlanta. Agents seized more than 4,800 pounds of meth nationwide and are still working on more arrests, according to the DEA.The Southern California seizure occurred on Oct. 2, 2020, officials said. Agents from Southwest Border Group 2 began investigating a large-scale drug trafficking organization with ties to the Sinaloa Cartel in SD Otay-Mesa area, allegedly involved in the transportation and delivery of large quantities of drugs.The investigation led to search warrants at multiple narcotic stash houses in Moreno Valley and Perris in Riverside County, officials said.The drugs were intended for distribution in Southern California, including Los Angeles, according to DEA officials, who displayed the haul at the agency's warehouse in an undisclosed location in Los Angeles County.City News Service contributed to this report 1645
