SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Three people were injured in a shooting in east San Diego on Saturday.San Diego Police say three people were shot in the area of Euclid Ave. and Home Ave. in City Heights before 9:30 p.m.SDPD did not say whether a suspect was sought or provide more details on the condition of the victims.ABC 10News is following this breaking news. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector’s downtown San Diego office reopened Monday for in-person services.The office at 1600 Pacific Hwy., Room 162, was closed in mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Public health and safety measures are now in place at the office, allowing for business to resume.“The health of our employees and customers is our top priority, so we have made some changes to how we do business face-to-face. We are pleased to reopen our downtown branch and will be reviewing further possible branch openings under a phased and cautious approach to ensure everyone’s safety,” said County Treasurer-Tax Collector Dan McAllister.Some of the measures implemented at the office include:Protective barriers on countersCashiers placed at least six feet away from each otherFloor markers for customers to maintain social distancingPublic counters being cleaned throughout the dayDespite the reopening, McAllister said customers can still complete business via the SDTTC.com website or without even visiting the office at all. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The South Bay continues to be devastated by the coronavirus, with several of the hardest hit ZIP codes in the region.According to San Diego County data, the hardest hit ZIP code is 92154. The area, which includes Otay Mesa and parts of Imperial Beach, has the most cases in all of the county. In the last 30 days, cases have jumped from 3,290 to 4,528. Over 1,200 of the cases in this ZIP code happened in the last month.Other ZIP codes in the region have more than doubled their case rate in recent weeks. These ZIP codes have a large Latino population; Latinos have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, making up a majority of the county's positive cases while only making up roughly 34% of the population.INTERACTIVE MAP: CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES IN SD COUNTYNancy Maldonado from the Chicano Federation said it's no surprise the region continues to see the high number in cases. Maldonado explained that many of those who live in the region are essential, frontline workers and often times live in multi-generational households.The Chicano Federation has distributed over 7,000 COVID-19 safety kits to the community, including things like masks, hand sanitizer and thermometers.Maldonado said the focus of the federation has been to continue raising awareness about this virus, encouraging testing, and encouraging the community to stay home during the upcoming holidays. 1415

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Police Department says pedestrian fatalities are going up in California - so they're cracking down on drivers, pedestrians and those violating laws that pertain to motorized scooters. All of this, just as new reports show a flood of scooter-related injuries backing up local emergency rooms. Wednesday night SDPD sent out targeted patrols to downtown and Lincoln Park. Two spots where pedestrian and bike collisions have increased in the last three years. In many cases, traffic violations led to those crashes. 10News watched as officers ticketed more than 50 people, and gave out more than 20 warnings. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Zoo and San Diego Zoo Safari Park are scheduled to reopen to the public on June 20.The Saturday, June 20, opening ends the first major closure in San Diego Zoo Global’s 103-year history.The Zoo and Safari Park were closed in mid-March amid the coronavirus pandemic.Officials noted that health and safety measures that comply with local and state guidelines would be in place at both the Zoo and Safari Park.Some of the modifications at the parks include:face coverings required for all guests over 2 years of agepracticing social distancinglimited dining and shopping, overall reduced park hoursreduction of guests in the parks (operating at limited capacity)limited guest parkingmembers and guests will not be allowed to leave the parks and re-enter on the same dayone-way path adjustments and barriers to help guests navigate safelyincreased number of hand-washing and sanitizing locationsrobust cleaning routineVisitors will be asked health questions upon entry.The following will not be available during the parks’ initial reopening phase: the Zoo’s Guided Bus Tour, Kangaroo Bus and Skyfari Aerial Tram, and the Safari Park’s Africa Tram.Other activities that traditionally include larger numbers of guests -- including some shows, tours and Safari experiences -- will also be temporarily unavailable.Paul Baribault, president/CEO for San Diego Zoo Global, said in a statement, “As the San Diego Zoo and the San Diego Zoo Safari Park reopen to guests, it’s true that we will be faced with a new normal.
