WAUKEGAN, Ill. — Kyle Rittenhouse, accused of killing two protesters days after Jacob Blake was shot by police in Kenosha, Wisconsin, will not face charges in his home state of Illinois, prosecutors said Tuesday.An investigation revealed the gun used in the Kenosha shooting was purchased, stored and used in Wisconsin, the Lake County (Illinois) State’s Attorney’s Office said. There is no evidence the gun was ever physically possessed by 17-year-old Rittenhouse in Illinois, the office said.Rittenhouse, who is from Antioch, Illinois, remains held in a juvenile detention center in Lake County without bond due to pending criminal charges in Kenosha. Rittenhouse is due back in Lake County court on Oct. 30 for an extradition hearing.His arrest has become a rallying point for some on the right, with a legal defense fund that has attracted millions of dollars in donations. "It’s time for everyone to step out of the shadows."Read Taylor's full statement here.Taylor's anonymously written book “A Warning” paints a chilling portrait of President Donald Trump as cruel, inept and a danger to the nation he was elected to lead, The Washington Post reports.The book’s description on Amazon says it was meant to motivate readers to “consider how we judge our nation's leaders, and illuminate the consequences of re-electing a commander in chief unfit for the role.”The book was published in November 2019, more than a year after The New York Times published a bombshell op-ed essay by the same anonymous author.In the op-ed, the author claimed to be among a group of people in the White House who were working to keep Trump’s reckless impulses in check for the good of the country.As “part of the resistance inside the Trump administration,” the article’s author said the group believed Trump acts in a manner that is “detrimental to the health of our democracy” and that they vowed to do what they can to “preserve our democratic institutions.”The book and article have been criticized by the president and members of his administration. It also sparked a long guessing game in Washington to figure out who the author was.The Times reports that Taylor resigned from DHS in June 2019 and then went public with his criticism of Trump this past summer. Adding that the hack could have included some kind of "hit" on voting machines. There is no evidence of this, and no one within the administration has said this. WASHINGTON, D.C. (KGTV) -- Starting January 1, a new federal rule requires hospitals to post a list of prices online, detailing the services they provide, according to KRON. The new law forces hospitals to post prices for every item and service they provide. According to KRON, hospitals have hidden that information from the public in the past, claiming it’s proprietary information or would confuse people. Few hospitals around the country post a small list of prices while others require patients to contact their healthcare provider or speak with someone in billing. Hospitals warn that the prices listed will likely vary from the actual prices charged to customers due to rates negotiated with insurance companies. 729
