BENTONVILLE, Ark. – Walmart announced Wednesday that it has revamped its Black Friday plans to help provide a safer and more convenient shopping experience amid the coronavirus pandemic.The retail giant says it will spread out its Black Friday savings from one single day to three different events throughout November to bring customers “Black Friday Deals for Days.”The company says each savings event will begin online at Walmart.com and continue in Walmart stores three days later.Event 1Deals for the first event begin online on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. ET, with new deals in stores starting on Nov. 7 at 5 a.m. local time. BANGOR, Me. — It’s the time of year to bundle up, pick out a tree, and make time for tradition.Despite everything this year has brought, there are moments worth celebrating, and in some places, life almost seems normal.“Everything has been canceled or changed, or you can't do this, you can't do this that, and the nice thing about our trees here is they're planted at 6 feet apart, coincidentally,” said Mac McCullen, owner of the Piper Mountain Christmas Tree Farm.The Piper Mountain Christmas Tree Farm didn’t plan for a pandemic, but they’re hoping families can find a small escape when they visit.“People could spread out, find their trees, stay safe and enjoy that kind of time together with their family, which is so important, I think, and particularly in a time like this,” McCullen said.After retiring from the Navy, McCullen and his wife took over the farm. “Our favorite part of being on the farm is, quite honestly, just being outside," he said.It’s a joy the McCullens were terrified of losing because of Covid-19.“We weren't sure that people were gonna show up. We were very pleased our first weekend to have probably better than normal weekend. And it's kind of continued to be that way. Even our weekdays, which are typically pretty slow, two or three people here and there, have been fairly steady,” said McCullen.They did everything they could to make their farm safe: putting up sneeze guards and using social distancing in their store.The couple was thankful to see the cars fill their parking lot.“This is one of the best things we come to do, to stay together,” said long-time customer Mike Cassidy.“I haven’t been to get a tree anywhere else since I’ve been born,” said Cassidy’s daughter, Mariah.These simple moments of family fun are making sure the McCullen’s legacy can live on.“It's a huge relief because not only do we have to deal with COVID, but we're a seasonal business. People don't buy Christmas trees year-round, so all of our sales happen in the month of November and December. So, if people didn't show up, oh my gosh, you know, we really would have a hard time surviving," McCullen said.It’s not just at this farm, demand for Christmas trees is skyrocketing across the country, so much so, that some farms are seeing shortages.With that jump in demand, comes a jump in price. The National Christmas Tree Association reported Americans will pay an average of 7 percent more for a tree this year than last year, and 23 percent more than they paid in 2018.But raising prices wasn’t an option at this farm.“With all the difficulties that everybody has gone through and the stress and the strain that is put on everyone, we just didn't want to add another layer to that. So, what we tried to do was stay as consistent as we could to keep our prices the same so that people could come out and know what to expect when they get here,” said McCullen.McCullen and his wife made many of the wreaths themselves. They also made candle holders from fresh fir trees and garland for your home.“I get a little emotional about it because it's just us. For my wife and I, we don't have children, so our workers the people that are here with us that support us are our family. That's what the emotional piece of it just being able to be, you know, in something together and to be able to create, you know, things that we know people enjoy,” said McCullen.For those close enough to visit, taking home a Piper Mountain tree is a tradition they won’t miss.“We love a real Christmas tree,” said Mariah Cassidy. “There’s nothing like it, and coming here always feels like home.”“And this year would be in memory of my mom, Gaila,” said Matthew Cassidy. “She used to love to come here, and she’s the main reason we keep coming here. Boeing has unveiled its newest line of business jets, which the company says will allow VIP travelers to fly nonstop between "any two cities on Earth."The BBJ 777X planes will have a range of 11,645 nautical miles (21,570 km), enabling them to offer the longest commercial flight in the world.Depending on which routes the jets are used on, the new models mean Boeing could wrestle the crown for farthest nonstop travel away from Airbus.Earlier this year, Singapore Airlines resumed its 17-hour flights between London and Singapore on Airbus A350-900 ULR (Ultra-Long Range) jets.But the distance traveled on the record-breaking flights is a mere 9,000 nautical miles (16,700 kilometers), putting it below the range Boeing's new jets are capable of.The planes "can fly more than halfway around the world without stopping, farther than any business jet ever built," the company said in a statement."Our most exclusive customers want to travel with the best space and comfort and fly directly to their destination. BUFFALO, N.Y. — Newly-released body camera footage shows a New York Supreme Court justice admitting to shoving a police officer, repeatedly stating that he has family ties to the Buffalo police force and even invoking a friendship with Mayor Byron W. Brown as he sought lenient treatment for himself and his wife during an incident in June.The footage was released after Scripps station WKBW in Buffalo reported in June that State Supreme Court Justice Mark J. Grisanti was under police investigation over a street brawl between the justice, his wife and their North Buffalo neighbors. Grisanti and his wife were both handcuffed and placed in the back of police cars, but officials announced in July that they would not be facing charges.In the body camera footage, Grisanti repeatedly states that his daughter and son-in-law are police officers, as does his wife, Maria Grisanti.“Ma'am, if you don't stop yelling, this is gonna be a problem for you,” a Buffalo police officer told Grisanti's wife, Maria, as she was yelling at her neighbors across the street.“I don’t care,” Maria Grisanti yelled back.The officer then crossed the street and attempted to put Maria Grisanti in handcuffs. That's when her husband began shouting at the officer. Video shows Grisanti approach the office him from behind and shove him.“You better get off my f---ing wife,” Mark Grisanti yelled after being told to "keep his hands off cops." “My daughter and my son are both Buffalo police officers...I’ll call them right now.”Buffalo Police spokesman Capt. Zaccagnino, who is representing Grisanti. “Certainly he wishes the incident never occurred.”Zaccagnino said Grisanti was trying to defend his wife, and he feels his actions are being taken out of context.“And he got angry, and he raised his voice, he put his hand up, and he did make contact with the officer,” Zaccagnino said. “He feels bad about it, OK? He feels bad about the whole incident.”This is not the first time an altercation involving Grisanti and his wife has spilled out into public view.Grisanti was injured in a 2012 scuffle at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls in which he said he and his wife were attacked and beaten during a confrontation with members of the Seneca Nation of Indians. He was a state senator at the time.Grisanti, a Republican, lost his senate seat in 2014 but was appointed to a Court of Claims judgeship by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in 2015.
