Jaelynn Willey, the teen shot in the St. Mary's County School shooting died Thursday evening, the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office reported. "The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, on behalf of the Willey family, advises that on March 22, 2018, at 11:34 pm, Jaelynn Rose Willey died, surrounded by her family. (KMGH) -- Police in Colorado say a couple accused of using stolen credit cards to rack up thousands of dollars in fraudulent charges had no problem bringing two young kids along."People using their children to shoplift, it's not something we see a lot of, but it's always very disappointing," said Mark Techmeyer, a spokesperson with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.Deputies said the unidentified couple stole a purse from a woman's car that was unlocked in the parking lot at Fairmont Elementary School in Lakewood. It happened on Sept. 15 around 3:30 p.m. local time.Within minutes of stealing the purse, investigators said the suspects began using the victim's credit cards."It happens very fast because they know the cards get canceled really quick," Techmeyer said.Deputies said the couple used the stolen cards to go on a three-day spending spree, fraudulently buying liquor, clothes, electronics, gas and food.Surveillance photos from a Kohl's store in Arvada showed the couple's two young kids with them as they checked out. In one of the photos, one of the kids is holding a shopping bag."It's a deplorable act," Techmeyer said.The duo with kids in tow then hit Mile High Wine Cellars, a liquor store next door.Owner Mark Crowder said their receipt for charges included Angry Orchard Cider, Ciroc Vodka, and expensive Cognac."She reported it stolen and then the charges continued," Techmeyer explained.Investigators said an error with the bank allowed the couple to keep using the stolen cards over three days, racking up nearly ,000 in fraudulent charges.Police are now hoping someone recognizes the couple in the surveillance photos."If there are any other charges that may surround having the children with them while they committed these acts is yet to be determined," Techmeyer said. 1872

(KGTV) - A Jamul family is mourning the loss from COVID-19 of a former little league coach and employee at Taylor Guitars.Greg Denny came down with a sinus headache in the second week of June. A trip to the ER revealed double pneumonia. Then came a positive COVID-19 test and fever, before his wife Kim brought him back to the hospital.“Five days of fever, hadn't been able to break it. He was at 102°,” said Kim Denny.A week after Greg was admitted, he was placed on a ventilator.“It was very emotional, like a roller coaster. Good one day and then things changed that same day,” she said.Eventually, the bad days took over. His kidneys failed. So did his pancreas. Then he got a blood infection. Last Friday, Greg — an Army veteran, father of two and grandfather of four — passed away at the age of 48.“He was my soulmate, my best friend and now he's my guardian angel,” she said.Kim calls her husband a wonderful dad and grandfather.“He’s the best man I’ve ever known,” said Dillon Wulff, Greg’s adult son.For the last five years, Greg has worked in security at Taylor Guitars. For more than two decades, he has coached or volunteered for little league games in Spring Valley.In her time of grief, Kim takes comfort in the daily game they played called, "I love you more."“Whoever said it first would win. JOHNSON COUNTY, Kansas — Roughly 5,000 mail-in ballots will be tabulated in Johnson County Friday.The results from the mail-in ballots will be released beginning at 8 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m.The ballots could widen the margin between the two leading Republican primary candidates for governor: Secretary of State Kris Kobach and Gov. Jeff Colyer.When polls closed on Tuesday, slow reporting in Johnson County delayed results. Once the numbers came out the following morning, Kobach led by fewer than 200 votes.Since then, the numbers have been contested, but a 41 Action News county-by-county tally shows Kobach still in the lead.The Secretary of State’s office said it should have all the advance ballots that were mailed in, and any other unofficial election results that were not previously reported on election day.Provisional ballots will be reviewed and counted next week by individual counties.
