SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Southern California's theme parks are gearing up for holiday fun starting this month.Disneyland, California Adventure, Legoland, and more welcome in the holidays this month with several special events, parades, activities, and treats for guests to enjoy.Here's a look at what parks are planning this holiday season for guests and when the fun begins:Disneyland: The holidays return to Disneyland Park from Nov. 8 through Jan. 6, 2020, bringing fireworks, parades, and delicious treats to Anaheim. Disney characters create a magical winter wonderland during the "Believe ... in Holiday Magic" fireworks show and "A Christmas Fantasy" parade with Elsa, Mickey, Santa, and others. Guests can check out the park's 60-foot Christmas tree on Main Street, and Sleeping Beauty's Castle dressed for the holidays every day. Of course, the Haunted Mansion celebrates the holidays with Jack Skellington, and "it's a small world" will be dressed to impress in more than 50,000 lights. Guests will also find holiday treats throughout the park this season.California Adventure Park: Disney's Festival of Holidays runs Nov. 8 through Jan. 6, 2020, at California Adventure Park, bringing sunset concerts, festive foods, and craft stations to the park. The park's "Disney ?Viva Navidad! Street Party" ushers in the season with folklórico and samba dancers, and Cars Land zooms into the holidays with special decorations and Luigi's Joy to the Whirl and Mater's Jingle Jamboree attractions. Santa Claus will also be in town at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, where guests can visit him. And every night, the "World of Color — Season of Light" light and laser show.Legoland California: Legoland's holiday fun runs Nov. 23 through Dec. 31, with cheer around every turn. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- SeaWorld Wednesday released an endangered turtle rescued off the Oregon coast back into the ocean.The olive ridley sea turtle named Coral was rescued after being found stranded on an Oregon beach.SeaWorld says the 18 to 25-year-old turtle was taken to a Seattle aquarium for rehabilitation before being flown to San Diego for more treatment.Once the ocean temperature off the coast became stable around 70 degrees, Coral was released back into her ocean home about 10 miles off the San Diego coast.Experts installed a tracking device on the turtle’s shell in hopes of tracking Coral’s location as well as ocean temperature.According to SeaWorld, olive ridley turtles are found throughout the Pacific ocean, though they rarely stray any further north than Southern California. 803

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Police say a man has died after an officer-involved shooting in the City Heights area on Thursday.SDPD officers responded to reports of a man with a gun in the 4200 block of Menlo Ave. at about 4 p.m., according to SDPD Lt. Matt Dobbs.Police say two women were driving in the area when they were confronted by a man with a handgun."The man manipulated the slide of the gun as if he were loading it and pointed the gun towards the women," according to a SDPD news release. The women drove away and then called 911.Officers arrived to find the man and demanded he drop the gun. 612

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Several major streets around San Diego are closed to cars to make way for more bicycles Sunday. The San Diego Bike Coalition hopes the event, called CicloSDias, will encourage people to ride their bikes instead of using their vehicles. Streets like Adams Avenue in Normal Heights and El Cajon Boulevard in City Heights will be closed. The event starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until 5 p.m. The event will also host a free concert with food and activities on El Cajon Boulevard between Fairmont and 44th Street.
