BEIJING, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- The government has cut back on import taxes on spare parts of large equipment and canceled the import tariff exemption on some complete sets.     The adjustments were made to support the domestic manufacturing of large equipment, said the Ministry of Finance.     Taxes levied on domestic enterprises for importing key spare parts of large equipment, including ultra- and extra-high voltage transmission equipment and transformers, large petro-chemical equipment and large coal-chemical equipment, would be refunded and injected into the enterprises as investment from the nation, it said.     The policy applied to imports after Jan. 1, 2008, depending on the date of declaration of imports.     In the meantime, the import of some complete sets of equipment by enterprises approved after Sept. 1, 2008 would no longer enjoy the tax exemption. Both domestic and foreign-funded projects are subject to the new policy, the ministry said.     Imports of such equipment by enterprises approved before Sept. 1 would continue to enjoy the previous tax policies until March 1,2009.

BEIJING, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao held talks with Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt here Monday. Both agreed to deepen cooperation.     During their talks, Wen said as the first western country to establish diplomatic ties with the People's Republic of China 58 years ago, Sweden and China have continued to increase mutual trust and understanding, as well as expand cooperation in all areas.     The recent years, in particular, have seen rapid growth in bilateral trade volume, said Wen, noting that China has become the largest trade partner for Sweden in Asia. He has just finished his attendance in the year's annual meeting of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) in China's Sanya, a platform for high-level interaction between leaders from Asia and the world.

PYONGYANG, April 21 (Xinhua) -- The torch relay in Pyongyang will enhance friendship between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and China, the DPRK's Olympic chief said Monday.     The event will promote the cooperation and exchanges in sports between the two countries, and will show their traditional friendship to the world, said Park Hak Seon, chairman of the National Olympic Committee of the DPRK.     The official made the remarks at a reception held by the Chinese Embassy to welcome the Beijing Olympic Flame to Pyongyang.     The reception was attended by senior DPRK officials, including Yang Hyong Sop, vice president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, and Park Kwan O, chairman of the People's Committee of Pyongyang, foreign diplomats in Pyongyang and famous DPRK athletes.     Liu Xiaoming, Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK, expressed thanks to various departments of the DPRK for their hard work in preparing for the torch relay in Pyongyang.     He said he sincerely appreciates the strong support from the people of the DPRK to the Chinese people.     The Olympic torch which will be used to carry the sacred flame in Pyongyang was displayed at the reception.     The torch relay will be held on April 28 in Pyongyang, the 18thleg of its global trip. SARAJEVO, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- China and Bosnia pledged on Friday to strengthen cooperation between each other and push their relations to a higher level.     "China cherishes the traditional friendship with Bosnia, hopes to broaden political dialogues at different levels and deepen the exchange and cooperation in such fields as trade and lift the bilateral relations between the two countries to a higher level," visiting Chinese vice Premier Zhang Dejiang said.     Zhang made the comments in his meeting with rotating Chairman Haris Silajdzic of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Nebojsa Radmanovic, another member of the group made of three members.     "China regards Bosnia as a trust-worthy friend and partner, and we greatly appreciate Bosnia's stance on one-China policy and its support for China's great cause of peaceful unification with Taiwan," Zhang said.     Silajdzic congratulated China on successfully staging the 29th Beijing Olympic Games. He said that the opening ceremony of the games displayed Chinese long history and its splendid culture and it also showed China's desire for a harmonious world.
