Former "Two and a Half Men" co-star Conchata Ferrell has died. She was 77.Ferrell, who was best known for her role as housekeeper Berta to Charlie Sheen's character on the sitcom, passed away Monday after complications following a cardiac arrest, Deadline reports.According to People, Ferrell had suffered a heart attack in July.Sheen tweeted out his condolences after hearing of her passing. 400

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky State Senator Chris McDaniel is pre-filing a bill that would replace a statue of Confederate President Jefferson Davis in the state Capitol Rotunda with a statue of Carl Brashear, a Kentucky African American Navy sailor and master diver who died in 2006.In 1970, Brashear became the first African-American master diver in the history of the U.S. Navy, despite having his left leg amputated in 1966. The film "Men of Honor" was based on Brashear's life.McDaniel says he'll call for 0,000 to erect a statue of Brashear. The Jefferson Davis statue would be sent to either the Kentucky Historical Society or Jefferson Davis Park under his bill."For the past decade, politicians of both political parties are getting behind the state's historical commission and encouraged them to take action," McDaniel said. "That is not leadership."Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear believes now is the time to remove the statue."I just want to make the statement that I believe the Jefferson Davis statue is a symbol that divides us," Beshear said in a news conference last week. "Even if there are those who think it's a part of history, there should be a better place to put it in historic context. Right now, seeing so much pain across our state and across our country, can't we at least realize that in so many of our fellow Kentuckians — we talk about compassion in terms of COVID, we ought to have compassion for all pain — can't we understand that at the very least it is so hurtful to them and doesn't that justify it not sitting where it does right now? I don't think it should be in the Capitol Rotunda."Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron agrees the Jefferson Davis statue should be moved."Jefferson Davis is our past, but he didn't define our future, Abraham Lincoln did," said Cameron in a statement on Friday. For example, for a gathering of people in Fayette County, Kentucky, the likelihood that at least one person would test positive for COVID-19 is:28% for a group of 10 people39% for a group of 15 people48% for a group of 20 people56% for a group of 25 people81% for s group of 50 people.Nearly 40% of people say they will likely attend a Thanksgiving gathering with 10 or more people despite the risk of catching COVID-19, according to a recent survey by Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center.Another survey of parents nationwide found nearly a third say the benefits of gathering with extended family for the holidays are worth the risk of spreading or getting the coronavirus. The survey, conducted by the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in partnership with the University of Michigan, says almost 3-in-5 plan to see extended family in person.Experts at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say postponing travel and staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others this year. Florida Republican Rep. Dennis Ross is retiring after eight years of serving in the US House."After thoughtful prayer and consideration, my wife Cindy and I decided that I will not seek re-election for a fifth-term in office," Ross wrote in a statement posted to Facebook Wednesday morning."I am grateful for this incredible opportunity to serve and I look forward to the next chapter of my life which will include, in some way, continued public service."Ross wrote that he plans on returning to Lakeland, Florida, the district he represents, and practicing law.The Tampa Bay Times was the first to report on Ross' retirement."Eight years takes its time on you. ... Football coach Derrick Clark was a convicted drug dealer when he was hired two seasons ago for New Haven Endeavour Middle School in New Haven, Michigan. Now he’s in jail facing serious sex charges.  School Superintendent Todd Robinson talked with Jim Kiertzner, investigator for Scripps station WXYZ in Detroit and said he knew Clark had some criminal past, saying “Not to the extent that you’re sharing with me now.”  Robinson would not say what his understanding of it was. “I don’t want to make any more comment about it at this time.” Robinson also would not answer if he would still hire him if he knew what he knows today.State records show Clark was convicted of drug possession and running a drug house and was on probation from 2009 to 2014.
