WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — A Pasco County photographer recruited her friends for a creative Halloween photoshoot involving pizza and pumpkins.Jennifer Sapountsis said the COVID-19 pandemic has been stressful for everyone."Trick-or-treating has changed a lot and people can't do as much stuff, so why not just try to bring smiles to people's faces and have fun with it," said Sapountsis. She asked her friends, Chris and Sarah Weed, to carve two pumpkins. The three then went to The Edison, a venue in Dade City. The couple was photographed wearing pumpkins on their head. They also ate some pizza."I feel like pizza and beer is an iconic thing for couples when they're chill. What do you want to do on a date night? Let's order some pizza, some beer, chill out," she said. The couple also dressed as ghosts and danced around. Sapountsis shared the photos on her Facebook page, Jennifer Alyssa Photography."I've gotten a lot of responses. I've seen other people try to do the same thing. I've seen a lot of people say that this is what I needed for my day....this was so funny, I want to do the same shoot next year," she said. She said she hopes the pictures make people laugh and smile. She also said her friend's husband was not crazy about the idea until he saw the finished product."He loves his wife, so he was okay doing it and going that extra step...there was so much laughter, so much fun. He was absolutely okay with it at the end. When he saw the pictures, both of them...they couldn't even believe it," said Sapountsis."My thought for this was just how can we make it fun and happy and show what date night could be if you took the extra step," she added. This story was first reported by Julie Salomone at WFTS in Tampa Bay, Florida. 1744

We're now entering peak back-to-school shopping season, but this is turning out to be a school shopping season like none ever before. In the year of the pandemic, many parents are holding off, unsure their children will even set foot in their schools this fall.In normal years, Target, Staples and other stores would be running big back-to-school campaigns by now. Stores would be stocked with gym shoes, white shirts, notebooks, and Clorox wipes. (Remember Clorox wipes? Have you seen any for sale in four months?)But these are not normal times. With many schools already planning for online learning this September, there's no need to buy lots of new school clothing or even backpacks.Other schools are holding off announcing any plans, which means teachers cannot come up with lists of required items yet.Why shopping could still be strongIt turns out learning at home may actually boost sales figures this year, according to the National Retail Federation. It says parents will be buying more laptop PCs and iPads then ever before. With many students learning at home even just part time, demand is soaring for new laptops to improve the Zoom call experience. The result is that the retail group predicts shopping could be 3-5% higher than last year, with more parents than ever dropping 0 to ,000 on a computer. Two kids? Double it.But from the doesn't that stink file, the bad news is for brick-and-mortar retailers. The Retail Federation says online sales will soar this school year, as families avoid going to the mall.About 45% of shoppers say they plan to do more online shopping this year than they did a year ago, which was already a strong year for online sales. That means if you like to browse the mall for school shopping, you'll find fewer stores open and much less merchandise on those store shelves when you get there.Shoppers report many shoe stores have just half their normal amount of merchandise on display. As a result, this shopping season is unlikely to rescue malls already deep in financial trouble. No more hands-on testing Macs and iPadsNeed a trip to the Apple store? 30% of them are closed, as Apple recloses stores in areas in the growing red zones.Meantime, many of the open ones won't let you play with the displays anymore, or do a hands-on test of MacBooks on the big open tables. You will need to ask an associate for help in those stores. CLICK HERE to find out if your store is open. One bright spot in all of this: If stores find school clothing and merchandise not moving well by the middle of August, expect huge markdowns later in the month, so you don't waste your money.____________________Don't Waste Your Money" is a registered trademark of Scripps Media, Inc. We hear it all the time--save the bees! Well, one Colorado woman has come up with an idea that could do just that.Danielle Bilot, an instructor at the University of Colorado Boulder, created the Forgotten Hive project. The initiative aims to transform parts of parking lot spaces into rest stops for bees.“These native bees, some of them can only fly about three blocks before they need more food,” explains Bilot. “And, so, if we don't have a frequent enough system, they're going to potentially die trying to get to the next big park space.”Bilot, with the help of students involved in the project, added nearly two dozen different plants at the edge of one parking lot in Boulder. The new plants, which replaced shrubs, will hopefully give bees a place to get food year-round.Bilot says there are more than 3,600 native bee species around the country, and they're not just cool to look at.“They are more efficient pollinators for crops than the honeybees we often think of,” says Bilot.Bilot visits the lot at least once a week to observe the bees and to take note of how they’re responding to the plants.“If some of them aren't attracting native bees, and we're not catching them on them, we won't plant them in the next lot,” Bilot says. The instructor hopes to spread the word and to spread hives to parking lots around her city, the country and the world.“We're looking at a large amount of urban land that can be converted into productive green space for a variety of benefits,” says Bilot. “What city wouldn't want to do that?” 1548

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KGTV) -- San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer was in Washington D.C. Tuesday to meet with President Donald Trump and discuss issues impacting San Diego. According to the White House, Faulconer and the President discussed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement. While in the White House, Faulconer also raised several concerns facing San Diego including polluted water flowing in the Tijuana River Valley.Faulconer also discussed San Diego’s homeless crisis with Trump, and what the city is doing to solve homelessness. "I had a chance to briefly meet with the President to discuss a few big issues facing San Diego," Faulconer said on Twitter following the meeting. "We talked about the pending #USMCA deal, California’s homeless crisis, and I also brought up sewage coming from the Tijuana River Valley – and encouraged more federal action to fix it."The mayor's press secretary, Ashley Bailey, said, "It was really 940

WAUWATOSA, Wis. -- Anytime Fitness has issued an apology after someone at their Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, location displayed a whiteboard with instructions for an "I Can't Breathe" workout."I can't breathe" were among the last words George Floyd spoke as he died on Memorial Day in police custody in Minneapolis. Since Floyd's death, protests have taken place in large scale across the country in his honor. Many of those protesters have chanted "I can't breathe" as well.On Tuesday, a viral image began to circulate that showed a whiteboard describing the "I Can't Breathe" workout, which involved things like rowing and burpees. After listing the tasks for the workout, the whiteboard read "...and don't you dare lie down." 729
