He owns a BP gas station and On the Fly convenience store in Jacksonville, which are within walking distance of two labs. One lab said it does not collect drug test samples. He said that people walk in off the street, microwave their containers and then leave. Warming urine from a person who has not taken drugs is seen by some as a way to pass a drug test. A few months ago a woman became aggressive with Patel when he asked her to not warm urine. JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Charles Evers, the older brother of slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers and a longtime figure in Mississippi politics, has died in Mississippi. He was 97. A coroner says Evers died of "natural causes" Wednesday in Brandon. Medgar Evers was a Mississippi NAACP leader who was assassinated outside his Jackson home in 1963. Charles Evers in 1969 became the first Black candidate since Reconstruction to win a mayor's race in any multiracial town in Mississippi. He ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1971 and for U.S. Senate in 1978, both times as an independent. He was later a Republican but publicly supported Barack Obama for president. 671

(KGTV) - A San Bernardino County couple has been arrested after authorities said they kept their three children in unsanitary and unsafe conditions.Sheriff's Department deputies were conducting an area check Wednesday afternoon in the 7000 block of Sunfair Road when they located a trailer that appeared abandoned. A large rectangular box made of plywood was also located on the property.Upon inspection, deputies found there was no electricity or running water and several large holes, mounds of trash, and human feces on the property.Police said the parents, identified as Mona Kirk, 51, and Daniel Panico, 73, did not provide their three children, ages 11-, 13-, and 14-years-old, with enough food either.About 30-40 cats were also found roaming freely inside the trailer and on the property.Kirk and Panico were arrested and charged with willful cruelty to a child in lieu of 0,000 bail.The three children have been transported into the care of San Bernardino County Children and Family Services. 1061
