Positions include:Employment Program Representative: Requires college education and public contact experience to process claims and assist customers, including over the phone and off-phone work.Office Technician: Requires clerical skills to assist customers over the phone.Financial services classifications including Tax Auditor and Accountant 1 Specialist, Accounting Technician, and Accounting Officer positions: Requires professional accounting coursework along with up to three years of accounting/auditing experience. Interim Chief of Police Vanessa Wilson will be tasked with regaining the fractured trust of Aurora, Colorado residents after she was appointed the city's permanent chief of police during a city council meeting Monday night."I am honored, humbled, and energized by the trust the city manager, mayor, and council has placed in me. It was a moment one lucky Norfolk, Virginia couple didn’t know was coming.Derek Page and his fiancée, Veronica Singer, got a one-of-a-kind gift Sunday for their upcoming wedding in October.“I knew my brother was planning something, but I had no idea it would be this,” explained Derek.Derek’s brother, Alex Page, planned the surprise after coming across a Facebook post.“Instead of getting something off their registry, something that’s replaceable, I just thought it’d be a fun, unique different gift that creates a lasting memory,” said Alex Page.32-year-old Miles Hoyle surprised the couple on their porch by playing a variety of songs on his accordion. The accordionist has been playing the squeezebox for 13 years.The performances are something he calls 'Accordion-at-your-Door' where Hoyle plays songs for special occasions and celebrations - one note and one doorstep at a time.“I enjoy it a lot,” Hoyle said. “I think it helps bring them a little joy too, at least I hope so.”Hoyle started playing outside of people’s homes before the pandemic but said business ramped up right after the stay-at-home order went into effect.“I’ve also played outside a few restaurants on their porches,” he said.Hoyle also plays the accordion in his two bands, The Fighting Jamesons and Mosquito Cabaret, but as the COVID-19 crisis put most live entertainment on pause, his solo performances picked up traction.“I think it’s a win-win for everybody,” Hoyle said.The final song Hoyle played for the couple was Elvis Presley’s “Can’t help falling in love.” The couple applauded after the 15-minute show ended. It appears another week on Capitol Hill will come to a close without any sort of agreement on another stimulus plan. The US Senate adjourned on Thursday for the weekend, and won't resume until Monday.While Congressional Democrats, Senate Republicans and the White House are largely in agreement on the need for a stimulus, agreeing to a framework remains in question. The two sides are at odds over how much of unemployment should be supplemented by the federal government. There is also a debate on offering businesses liability protection from coronavirus-related lawsuits.On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Democrats won’t back down from their request to have a 0 weekly unemployment supplement.“We're not having a short-term extension... We have said that we're going to have the 0,” Pelosi said.But what about criticism from Republicans that a 0 a week supplement to unemployment is more lucrative than working?“There are all kinds of reasons that weigh in on this pandemic,” Pelosi said. “People have to stay home if their children are not able to go to school or if they don't have childcare. There are a number of reasons. INDIANAPOLIS -- A second threat was made to Noblesville High School in addition to the active shooter at Noblesville West Middle School, police confirmed Friday.Noblesville Police Chief Kevin Jowitt confirmed the threat to the high school at an 11 a.m. press conference on the situation at the middle school.MAIN STORY | Two shot at Noblesville West Middle School“We’re also aware of a secondary threat that has been made to Noblesville High School," Jowitt said. "We have multiple officers and a command post established at Noblesville High School there who are diligently ensuring the safety of students and staff there. We have not received any information that this has been anything other than a communicated threat."Two people, a teacher and a student, were shot by an unidentified shooter early Friday morning at Noblesville West Middle School. As of 11:30 a.m., police said they had the suspected shooter, a student at the school, in custody.The adult victim of that shooting was transported to IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. The juvenile was taken to Riley Hospital for Children.
