US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley will leave her position at the end of 2018, President Donald Trump announced from the Oval Office today.He would be happy to have her back in any capacity, he said during the announcement. The President said she told him 6 months ago that she wanted to leave at the 2-year mark.Haley called having the position "an honor of a lifetime."During today's announcement, she addressed rumors she might run for President of the United States in 2020. Haley said she will not be doing that and she will be campaigning for Trump.The President did not announce any potential successors for the ambassador position. (KGTV) — At a high school football game in Valley Center, emotions spilled off the field at halftime, as a head coach got into an altercation with the grandfather of player.Last week, under the Friday night lights at Valley Center High, the visiting squad from Imperial High made a big play in the second quarter."The other team ran past us for 50 yards. The student just didn't get the tackle, so they got the touchdown," said cheerleader Isela Zepeda.Zepeda says it was clear an assistant coach wasn't happy with the player."I heard that the assistant coach grabbed him, pushed him to the bench and started yelling at him," said Zepeda.Fast forward to halftime near the snack bar, as senior Jennifer Perez was coming out of the bathroom."Heard a lot of yelling. Saw a big crowd," said Zepeda. Witnesess say the grandfather of that player involved in the touchdown confronted the assistant coach. "He started choking him out," said Zepeda.Nearby was longtime head coach Rob Gilster."Heard he punched him to get him off. Then I heard he didn't punch him. Bunch of different stories," said senior Yesenia Zepeda, whose brother witnessed part of the fight.Deputies say bystanders broke up the fight. Sources tell 10News the grandfather suffered broken bones in his eye socket. Deputies took statements, but none of the men wanted to press charges and there wasn't enough evidence to make any arrests.The Valley Center Pauma Unified School District confirmed they've begun an investigation. 10News has learned both coaches were placed on administrative leave. 1588

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The suspect in an Amber Alert and stabbing was seen smiling Tuesday afternoon after her arrest.Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma said 39-year-old Taheerah Ahmad stabbed her 11-year-old daughter on Monday night. The 11-year-old girl was taken to the hospital in "very" critical condition, where she remains unconscious.An Amber Alert was issued after police said Ahmad also abducted her eight-year-old child. Ahmad was located around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot in Tulsa. The 8-year-old child was also found safe. Police said citizens walking in the area noticed the vehicle and contacted authorities. Ahmad was taken into custody without incident. Police said she had been in that parking area for 17 hours before being found. Police said the woman admitted to the crime. Ahmad said she became upset with her children, and bound two of her children's hands with duct tape. She said the 11-year-old child fought back, and she stabbed the child 50 to 60 times and hit her in the head with a pick ax, according to police. She was arrested on counts of assault and battery with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, first-degree arson and abuse of a child.  1209

USA Gymnastics CEO Kerry Perry apologized Wednesday for the "horrific acts" of Larry Nassar at a congressional hearing examining the Olympic community's role in sex abuse scandals."I want to apologize to all who were harmed by the horrific acts of Larry Nassar," Perry said.She said she was "appalled and sickened by the despicable crimes" of Nassar and said USA Gymnastics has taken a new course over the last five months to protect athletes.Perry was appointed to take over USA Gymnastics late last year. She replaced Steve Penny, who resigned in March 2017 amid backlash over the organization's handling of sexual abuse claims, including against Nassar.Nassar, the former USA Gymnastics doctor and Michigan State University team physician, admitted in a Michigan court that he had used his influence and position as a trusted medical professional to sexually abuse young girls and women over two decades.Several of the hundreds of women abused by Nassar, including gold medal gymnast Aly Raisman, have said USA Gymnastics is responsible for not doing more to stop the years of abuse. In court in January, Raisman said the organization was "rotting from the inside" and called on Perry to take responsibility for the issue."Where is the honesty? Where is the transparency?
