SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- The San Diego Police Lieutenant serving as the department's LGBT liaison has announced he is stepping down from the role. In an open letter posted to LGBTQ San Diego County News, Lt. Daniel Meyer explained why and how he made the decision to leave his position as the liaison. Lt. Meyer has been the liaison for 10 years. The news comes after San Diego Pride organizers sent a letter to the mayor announcing no law enforcement contingents would be allowed in the parade or festival, until policing changes are made, to show support for the Black LGBTQ community.The LGBT Community Center announced it would no longer allow armed, uniformed officers at its facilities and events. In his letter, Lt. Meyer says he found himself at a cross roads, proud of the work he's done to make SDPD a more inclusive and understanding agency. Meyer says he recognizes a need for change on a national level within community relations with law enforcement. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Thursday, San Diego Sheriff's investigators asked the public for help locating a Fallbrook man who disappeared in 2018.Officials say 50-year-old Arnoldo Loaiza Franco was reported missing on Aug. 10, 2018, by his family in Fallbrook, But the last time Franco had communication with anyone was on Aug. 1. At the time Franco went missing, he was reportedly working somewhere in Escondido or San Marcos at an avocado grove.Franco is described as a Hispanic man, with brown eyes and brown hair, weighing about 140 pounds and about 5-feet 8-inches tall.Anyone with information on Franco's whereabouts is asked to call SDSO's Homicide Unit at 858-285-6286 or the Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. 716

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Thousand of San Diegans are saving big by "buying nothing."It's just past 9 a.m. on a late November in Bay Ho and dozens of breads, rolls, and muffins are ready for taking. Becky Sloan is the first to arrive. The food is set up outside the home of Tomira Baca-Craig, who runs a food co-op that divvies out extra bread donated by bakeries and stores. On this morning, she posted the giveaway on her "Buy Nothing" Facebook group.It's not just bread. Sloan showed 10News photos of baseballs, crafting items, shoes for her children and home decor, just some of the stuff she's received in the last two years.
