A woman in Pennsylvania cannot keep a winning lottery ticket worth more than million, a judge ruled, because of how she acquired the ticket.The case came down to how the Acme store, where Beverlie Seltzer works just outside of Philadelphia, handles lottery tickets that are printed by mistake on the automated terminal put in place by the state’s Lottery Commission.The judge noted the protocol is that the store must pay the commission for each mistake ticket, but the store can keep any winnings from those tickets.In the trial court’s summary says Seltzer began scanning the mistake tickets during her shift, shortly after the Match 6 drawing. At this point, after learning the ticket was a winner, [instead of leaving the ticket for the coordinator to process the next day,] [Ms.] Seltzer took .00 in cash out of her purse, rang up her own transaction, and put the .00 in the register in an attempt to purchase the ticket. She was still on the clock at the time,” the court summary reads.Seltzer then reportedly told coworkers and her supervisor she won the lottery, “though claiming that she could not remember the time when she purchased the ticket.”Acme supervisors learned what happened after reviewing security tapes. When she was confronted, Seltzer denied it and contacted the lottery to claim the reward. Acme filed suit to determine the owner of the ticket.“When Ms. Seltzer in this instance deviated from the Acme procedures that she usually followed, she acted surreptitiously and was not forthcoming about the circumstances of the purchase,” the judge wrote. “Even viewing the evidence in the light most favorable to Ms. Seltzer, no reasonable fact-finder could conclude that Ms. Seltzer acted with the good faith belief that she was permitted by law or by Acme’s policies to give Acme in exchange for ,150,000. After being sworn into office Wednesday, Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona talked with Scripps' National Political Editor, Joe St. George, in Washington. Airports are finding new ways to make traveling safe for passengers during the COVID-19 pandemic. From mask requirements to high-tech cleaning solutions and physical distancing campaigns, they want travelers to feel safe the next time they fly. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is testing technology that could detect the virus long before a person boards their plane. They're running a 12-week pilot program with three thermal imaging cameras aimed at detecting elevated temperatures in passengers. Justin Erbacci is the CEO of Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA), the governing body for LAX and Van Nuys Airports. He says LAX is the first airport to test this kind of technology at a terminal entrance. "Certainly, as we ramp up, we have to have a process that allows passengers just to flow in," said Erbacci. Erbacci says the aviation industry has never experienced a crisis of this magnitude."The closest that I experienced was 9/11, of course. And that was a terrible, terrible time. But it was a much shorter period, and the impacts were not as severe. Now, we are in a situation where the impacts are significantly greater and the duration is much longer," said Erbacci. Medical staff monitors the thermal imaging cameras, looking for passengers with a fever of 100.4 or higher. If an elevated temperature is detected, the passenger is asked to take a voluntary second screening with a thermometer, to validate the accuracy of the thermal cameras. If a passenger is confirmed to have a fever, they're given information about the risk but are not turned away. However, they could face another screening by their airline, which has the final say on whether they fly.Medical assistant Genevie Guillen says passengers have so far been fully cooperative."Everyone is a bit scared, so I think they'd rather take precautions than take the chance of flying," said Guillen. Only deployed for a week, the screenings have not yet detected anyone with a fever, but there have been a few false positives. The airport is hoping more time and data will provide a clearer picture of the camera's accuracy. Critics of the technology say even if it's accurate, it can't spot asymptomatic passengers. And some people who show other symptoms never get a fever at all. From February 24 to April 21, the CDC screened approximately 268,000 returning travelers, discovering only 14 COVID-19 cases."These temperature checks are not meant to be the single solution that it is going to make everybody safe. It's just one layer of protection, in addition to many others," said Erbacci.The cameras being tested at LAX are on loan at no charge, but outfitting the entire airport with them would cost in the millions; it's an investment LAX hopes the government will help fund.Apart from giving every passenger a COVID test, Erbacci says it's the best way to detect the virus. But to be truly effective, he says it must be done nationwide to ensure arriving passengers have also been screened."If we can remove, even if it's only one-third or two-thirds of the people that actually have the virus, you're still stopping those people from coming in," said Erbacci. 3153

Almost 30 million Facebook users' phone numbers and email addresses were accessed by hackers in the biggest security breach in the company's history, Facebook said on Friday. The attackers accessed even more details on 14 million of those users, including the area where they live, their relationship status and their religion.The new details come two weeks after Facebook first announced that attackers had access to 50 million users' accounts -- meaning they could have logged in as those users. Facebook said on Friday that, "We now know that fewer people were impacted than we originally thought," and said that 30 million people had been impacted.For the 14 million worst hit by the breach, the attackers were able to access the following information, Facebook said: "username, gender, locale/language, relationship status, religion, hometown, self-reported current city, birthdate, device types used to access Facebook, education, work, the last 10 places they checked into or were tagged in, website, people or Pages they follow, and the 15 most recent searches."Facebook said it will send a message to the 30 million users affected in the coming days. Alan Bean, the fourth person to walk on the moon and the last surviving member of the Apollo 12 mission, died Saturday in Houston, according to his family and NASA.
