BEIJING, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The United States has no intention of containing China because doing that is not in the interests of the U.S., visiting U.S. President Barack Obama said here Tuesday night.

As the second-largest economy in the world, "the size of the Chinese economy and its contributions have global implications," said Ban at a press conference before G20 leaders begin their summit meeting.

BEIJING, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- China and Australia on Tuesday agreed to boost their already close military relations, following an upgraded bilateral relationship and a breakthrough in free trade agreement (FTA) talks.

The SCO, founded in 2001, currently has six member states -- China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. It also has Afghanistan, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan as observers and Belarus, Turkey and Sri Lanka as dialogue partners.

"China and the EU will mark the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties next year," he said.
