HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — A woman accused of killing her newborn daughter and then tossing the baby over a fence into a neighbor’s backyard was found guilty of first-degree murder.A Douglas County, Colorado, jury handed down the verdict against Camille Wasinger-Konrad Tuesday, according to a release from the 18th Judicial District. The 25-year-old Colorado woman was also convicted of tampering with physical evidence and the position-of-trust murder charge.Wasinger-Konrad was renting a room in a home of a Highlands Ranch, Colorado, family. Early in the morning of Jan. 2, 2018, she gave birth to a girl in her bedroom. She covered the baby’s mouth and nose to stop her from crying so as not to awaken others, the release read.Wasinger-Konrad then carried the newborn downstairs to the back deck. She threw the baby into the backyard of a neighbor, according to prosecutors. The neighbor found the dead child at 9:48 p.m. that night and called the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.“This tiny baby was smothered by her mother, flung over a neighbor’s fence and left to die by the only human she had ever known,” Chief Deputy District Attorney Christopher Gallo said during closing arguments. “This defendant hurled her newborn 11 feet over an 8-foot fence, knowingly consigning her to her death. This little girl died in the cold without the dignity of even a name.”Sentencing is set for Nov. 15. Former NBA player Mike Bibby is facing sexual abuse allegations from a teacher at the Arizona school where Bibby coaches the boy's basketball team.Phoenix police said Monday that they were recently made aware of allegations involving staff at Shadow Mountain High School."As of now, the investigation is ongoing and no suspect has been named, nor any charges recommended," Phoenix police said. The alleged victim filed a restraining order against Bibby on February 22, 2019, in reference to an incident that happened on February 22, 2017.In the paperwork, the teacher says she was outside with several coworkers when Bibby pointed at her from his car and asked her to come talk. When she approached the car, Bibby allegedly got out and picked her up, forcing her into the vehicle on her back. The woman says Bibby smelled of alcohol as he touched her inappropriately and said sexually explicit things to her.The alleged victim says she managed to get out of the car, but Bibby followed her toward the school, and once again grabbed her and touched her inappropriately. The woman reported that she told Bibby to stop several times before she was able to get away and go into a private room.The victim says days after the incident, Bibby asked her to tell the athletic director of the school that everything was ok between the two of them. She says she did tell the AD that in 2017, before filing the restraining order this week.Bibby has been ruled ineligible as a volunteer coach while police and the district investigate, according to a district spokesperson.Paradise Valley Unified School District released a statement, saying: At PVSchools, our first priority is always the safety and well-being of our staff and students. FLINT, Mich. – In a gesture of solidarity, a Michigan sheriff joined a crowd demanding action against police brutality and marched side by side with the peaceful protesters. Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson was caught on video joining the crowd that was marching in Flint Township in honor of George Floyd, the black man who died after an officer knelt on his neck during an arrest in Minneapolis.
