OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — An orphaned mountain lion cub who was badly burned in a Northern California wildfire is being treated at the Oakland Zoo after being rescued. The zoo says a firefighter rescued the four- to six-week-old cub Wednesday from the Zogg Fire. The cub, who weighs less than 4 pounds, had his whiskers singed off and his paws badly burned. He was given antibiotics, pain medications and a milk formula for kittens. A vet at the zoo says he's eating on his own and acting “feisty," which are both promising signs of recovery. 547

Ohio State announced that it has canceled its Saturday matchup against Illinois after head coach Ryan Day tested positive for the coronavirus, OSU announced on Friday. Day is the second head coach of a Top 5 team to come down with the virus in recent days.Ohio State confirmed that there has been an increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the athletics program, but declined to say how many have tested positive. Ohio State was slated to leave Columbus on Friday, but after Day and other unnamed members of the team tested positive for COVID-19, the team conducted more testing with the hopes of traveling to Illinois on Saturday hours before kickoff. (AP) — A pregnant Florida woman didn’t let labor stop her from casting her vote in the presidential election.Officials with the Orange County Supervisor of Elections said the woman was already in labor when she arrived at the polling site with her husband Tuesday.Staffers said the husband asked for a ballot for his wife and later told the staff that she was in the car, in labor and refusing to go to the hospital until she was able to vote.The woman filled out the ballot right away while doing some controlled breathing and was later taken to the hospital.Staff at the elections office told WKMG that they plan on getting the baby a onesie with the words “first vote” on it and stickers that say “future voter.”“I hope that the baby is safe, and she is safe, and that they’re assured that their ballot was put in the ballot box and their vote will be counted,” voter services worker Karen Brice?o González told WKMG. 942
