CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) - About 100 people came to worship at Glorietta Bay Park in Coronado on Friday.The 'Saturate OC' event was held by a Southern California congregation. They hold worship services and baptisms along beaches and waterfronts.It is the second 'Saturate OC' event in San Diego County in back to back weeks."It would be hard to understand if you're not a believer, but we prayed about it, and thought this was the next place we were supposed to come," said Parker Green, co-director for 'Saturate OC.'They held a worship service in Oceanside on Aug. 28, which drew hundreds of people. There were people seen not wearing face coverings or social distancing at that event.Green says they have face coverings at the event to people who want them. They also provide hand sanitizer. He also added he doesn't know of one person that got sick from their events."People can wear masks or not, we tell them to bring masks on our social media, but I think the crowd we tend to draw would be folks that would wear a mask in a public setting, especially outside," he said.People at the Coronado worship service appeared to be more spaced apart than those in the Oceanside event.Members of the county's Safe Reopen Compliance Team were at the event talking to people. What are the future jobs that we need to be preparing students for?" asked Dr. Shanna Jackson, the President of Nashville State Community College in Tennessee. Dr. Jackson says students are battling so much right now, including choosing between having to work and going to school.Dr. Jackson is hoping an million investment in the company Handshake, to help expand job recruitment to community colleges, will help."We actually already have 70 community colleges that have already signed on to be early pilot partners with us so we're really learning from them. We’re listening to them. We’ve started an advisory group with this population so that we can continue to ascertain what are the biggest pain points. What are their biggest areas of need for these students," said Christine Cruzvergara, Handshake's VP of Higher Education and Student Success.Handshake helps connect students with employers through career fairs, job postings and other services, and previously only worked with four-year universities. Cruzvergara says they're working with state systems throughout the country to connect with technical and community colleges."It'll be a really similar experience. It’ll all be part of one network and that's actually why it's a huge benefit to community colleges. We know for some of our biggest employers that they want to recruit 2-year talent. CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Firefighters are battling a major fire in Corpus Christi following a pipeline explosion along the city's refinery row.The blast happened just after 8:05 a.m. near Lantana and I-37, possibly at EPIC Products near Lantana and Navigation.Firefighters said the fire ignited a barge, which became fully engulfed. The fire then spread from the pipeline to the grain elevator.KRIS reports that multiple people during the explosion ended up in the water.CHRISTUS Spohn Shoreline representatives said they are treating four people from the explosion. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time. Two victims are being flown to Brooke Army Medical Center burn units in San Antonio.Corpus Christi Mayor Joe McComb said there is a search and rescue operation for four people who are still missing.KRIS has learned that EPIC Products had a brand new pipeline built for loading. It was reportedly going in at the facility when there was a pipeline rupture at the barge loading dock.According to Lieutenant Marina Lyons with the US Coast Guard, a dredge struck a submerged pipeline causing a fire in the Corpus Christi ship channel. The owner of the barge said they had multiple employees working at the site at the time of the explosion.The Corpus Christi Police Department has closed off Lantana Street to traffic as crews work to contain the inferno. 1379
