SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A family’s trip to the pumpkin patch goes sour when thieves went picking through their car while they were picking out their pumpkins.Fay Feltman, her daughter, her granddaughter and great grandson went to the pumpkin patch located off Mission Gorge in Grantville.Because of how busy the lot was, they struggled to find an open space. She tells 10 News her daughter ran to the car to find the window smashed and the purse stolen right from the trunk of the car.Feltman says her and her family were only in the patch for about 30 minutes. In that amount of time the thieves broke in, stole the purse and made it to Walmart off Murphy Canyon Road to make the purchase.Before heading into the pumpkin patch, Feltman says they took an extra step to put their purses in the trunk, making sure to not leave them in the back seat and visible.RELATED: Family alerted to burglars roaming tented condoUnfortunately the thieves still smashed the driver’s window to access the trunk latch but only grabbed her daughter’s purse and leaving Feltman’s.Feltman’s daughter has spent the past few days on the phone with the bank trying to cancel cards and reorder new ones.She also was at the DMV all day Monday and purchasing a new phone Tuesday. “Who would dream of people who are so evil and so cruel and so black hearted to do something like this I’m just in shock”.Now, the family left dealing with a complete invasion of privacy and sense of security, ”It’s like you’re violated even though they didn’t take any thing of mine personally they were in my car, reaching into my car just that alone makes you feel dirty, its just an icky feeling” Feltman tells us. 1937

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two San Diego-based U.S. Navy SEALs have been charged in connection with the 2017 execution of a detainee in Iraq.SEAL officials told the Navy Times that Lt. Jacob "Jake" Portier faces an Article 32 hearing on suspicion of covering up a string of war crimes allegedly committed by Special Operations Chief Edward "Eddie" Gallagher.The Naval Criminal Investigative Service probe involves the death of a wounded Islamic State fighter near Mosul, Iraq in May 2017, the Navy Times reported.Prosecutors allege Gallagher stabbed and killed the wounded man, posed for a photograph next to the body and opted to complete his re-enlistment ceremony next to the corpse, bringing "discredit upon the armed forces."Gallagher is also accused of shooting two non-combatants in separate incidents near Mosul, the Navy Times reported.An MCAS Miramar spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.Gallagher was arrested on Sept. 11 and is being detained at the Naval Consolidated Brig Miramar at the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, under Rules for Court-Martial 305, the Navy Times reported.Portier, who is accused of dereliction of duty, was not present at the time of the alleged killing, the Navy Times reported. He was Gallagher's platoon leader during the deployment and told investigators he learned about the alleged war crimes only after he was told about them by a special operator first class."Naval Special Warfare does not comment on specifics of an ongoing investigation in order to preserve its integrity, however all credible allegations of criminal activity are taken extremely seriously and thoroughly investigated," Naval Special Warfare spokeswoman Cmdr. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A driver escaped serious injury after falling asleep behind the wheel and crashing his pickup truck on state Route 52 in the Kearny Mesa area.The crash happened at around 11:45 p.m. Thursday on the eastbound side of SR-52 near the transition to Interstate 805, the California Highway Patrol said.ABC 10News learned a man was driving his work truck when he fell asleep, leading his vehicle to roll over several times across freeway lanes before coming to rest on the right shoulder.The driver was able to crawl out of the wreckage and was evaluated for minor injuries by paramedics at the scene. He was not taken to the hospital.No other injuries or crashes related to the incident were reported. 723

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A GoFundMe is attempting to raise money for a church that helps homeless teenagers. The Missiongathering Church in North Park was shut down this week after more than two dozen violations were handed to them by the city. In addition to being a shelter, the church also rents out the property as a music and sanctuary venue called “The Irenic.”The City of San Diego says the church never received clearance to do that. The GoFundMe hopes to raise ,000 to fix the violations. 504
