BEIJING, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- President Xi Jinping on Thursday said that China is committed to working with the United States to build a new type of major-power relationship.
During his upcoming visit to Britain, Xi will attend a banquet and visit research projects and local businesses in Manchester, a major industrial city the British government wants to revitalize. Britain is committed to work with China on the Belt and Road initiative and plans to attract Chinese capital to help with the revitalization program.
"I have deeply felt the great importance attached by the British side and your earnest expectations about the development of our ties, as well as the friendly feelings of the British people toward the Chinese people," the president said.
But "not using force recklessly" does not mean China will renounce the use of force. Misinterpretation by the U.S. may cause more miscalculation and could lead to crisis.
Vice Premier Ma Kai said at the meeting that the government will build more charging facilities for new energy vehicles, and ensure fair competition.
