Univision spokesman Jose Zamora said Maduro objected to Ramos' questions."Very shortly into the interview, Maduro didn't like the line of questioning, and they stopped the interview," Zamora said.He said government aides confiscated the network's equipment.Univision's news executives were able to find out what happened, he said, because "Jorge managed to call us." But "in the middle of the call, they took his phone away."Univision is the leading Spanish-language television network in the United States, with millions of loyal viewers. The network immediately contacted the US State Department. Kimberly Breier, the Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, tweeted out, "We insist on their immediate release; the world is watching."Univision also went public with the news about its crew."Attention: A @Univision team, headed by @jorgeramosnews, is being arbitrarily detained at the Miraflores Palace in Caracas," the network tweeted out on Monday evening.Groups like Human Rights Watch called for the release of the journalists.Venezuelan government officials did not immediately respond to CNN's requests for comment. The Venezuelan government had set up multiple interviews with American journalists amid the country's deepening crisis. In one of the other interviews on Monday, Maduro told ABC's Tom Llamas that the US government — which is backing opposition leader Juan Guaido — is "trying to fabricate a crisis to justify political escalation and a military intervention in Venezuela to bring a war to South America."ABC published excerpts from the interview on Monday evening. The Univision interview was also set to take place on Monday. Zamora said it was originally scheduled for 2:30 p.m., but kept being postponed. TUCSON, Ariz. — While the fight over border wall funding will apparently lead to a partial shut down of the federal government, political supporters of President Donald Trump are taking matters into their own hands.A viral crowdfunding effort on for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border has raised millionBy Friday morning at around 11:30 a.m. ET, a GoFundMe page titled "We The People Will Fund The Wall" passed million from nearly 200,000 donors. The funds were raised in just five days — but the campaign is just at just 1 percent of its billion goal. If the current pace of donations continue, the campaign would hit its goal in May of 2020.The campaign was started by Brian Kolfage, a triple amputee veteran and outspoken supporter of President Trump. While his GoFundMe page states that he has reached out to the Trump Administration in order to "secure a point of contact where all the funds will go upon completion," the White House has not yet publicly commented on the GoFundMe Campaign.Kolfage is able to keep every donation he receives, regardless if he reaches his goal. Donations are currently being sent to his GoFundMe account, though he asks that check be made payable to "WeFund The Wall"While it is true that some federal agencies will accept donations earmarked for specific projects, it 1326

Troy, Michigan police are investigating an on-the-job death at Jax Kar Wash.According to Sgt. Meghan Lehman the incident occurred around 1 p.m. Monday, when a Ford F-150 pick-up came off the automated wash area and hit two car wash employees near the exit. Both employees were transported to Royal Oak Beaumont, where one was pronounced dead late Monday afternoon. “This is the transition from the rails onto the actual driveway, so right when you’re switching it over to drive,” Sgt. Lehman said. The driver of the pick-up, a 64-year-old man from Rochester, is cooperating with police according to Sgt. Lehman. At this time, police do not think distracted driving or alcohol played a role in the crash. No charges have been filed against the driver. There is surveillance footage from inside the wash, which police will review as part of their investigation.“There’s no indication that there was any wrongdoing at the part of the car wash at all,” said Sgt. Lehman. The name of the deceased employee has not been released, as police are still notifying family members. The Jax Kar Wash location remained closed Monday afternoon while police investigated.
