SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego City Councilman Chris Cate sent a letter to Gov. Gavin Newsom's office on Monday, asking that comedy clubs in San Diego be allowed to reopen safely.The letter requests that performances be allowed to reopen in outdoor settings, with shows lasting no longer than an hour."We're not talking about concerts here where thousands of people are sitting next to each other," Cate said. "These are performances that are done while folks and individuals are having dinner in a restaurant setting, properly distanced, why should they be treated any differently?"Earlier this month, some comedy clubs, like The Comedy Palace in Kearney Mesa, moved their comedy shows outdoors, only to find out they were in violation of public health orders and made to stop.George Salek, co-owner of The Comedy Place, said they have a lot of outdoor space, and people were able to observe social distancing."Eighty people is what we're trying to put in 5,000 square feet," he said. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police are looking for more possible victims of a Balboa Park street performer suspected of multiple sexual assaults. Luis Martinez-Haaz, 22, was arrested May 3 in relation to several open cases from April, officers said.Police said Martinez-Haaz worked as a street performer and dancer in Balboa Park, and would often approach women after his shows. He convinced them to walk to isolated areas where he would sexually assault them, investigators said. San Diego Police Sex Crimes Unit detectives are searching for any additional victims or people with information related to the cases. Martinez-Haaz is 5’7” and 145 pounds with short brown wavy hair. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- San Diego Police have released video footage after officers shot and killed a murder suspect following a standoff on May 29.The 32-year-old suspect who was shot and killed was accused of shooting and killing another man at a City Heights apartment complex.The video shows officer stationed outside the apartment complex. Watch the full video below:According to police, gunfire was reported at the complex on the 3800 block of Euclid Avenue around 3:30 p.m.Officers later found a 62-year-old Hispanic man with at least one gunshot wound. "Specially trained STAR medics deployed with the SWAT team to provide aid, but the suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. They need to get out of Tijuana because it's just crazy for us,” said Candace Sanchez, a Tijuana resident.On the US side, those with family south of the border are concerned with what the future holds. “It worries me that the border might get closed. I mean it's like uh what's going on?
