DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — A quiet neighborhood in Dawsonville, Georgia is in shock after a Tampa man traveled there and allegedly killed his ex-wife and her sister on Thursday.Lumpkin County Sheriff Stacy Jarrard said Kelley McDonald Jr., 39, shot four people in the home before turning the gun on himself.  McDonald's ex-wife and her sister were both killed. McDonald shot and wounded a 16-year-old in the home and his 2-year-old daughter. Both were rushed to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, according to Jarrard.The sheriff said the victim was hiding from her ex-husband but he tracked her down to the community about an hour north of Atlanta. Around 8:30 a.m., deputies responded to a call of shots fired. A 13-year-old inside the home during the shooting was able to escape and call 911.Court documents show McDonald and his ex-wife divorced in October 2017. According to an active arrest warrant out of Hillsborough County, Florida, McDonald was wanted for attacking his ex-wife on December 30 inside her Tampa condo. The warrant was for domestic violence with strangulation and burglary with assault.  Tampa neighbors said they were friendly with the victim but noticed a lot of police going in and out of the home. They said she recently moved out. They were shocked and saddened to learn she was murdered.McDonald’s mother spoke to Scripps station WFTS in Tampa outside her Tampa home. She said the family was “shocked and just learning of the news.”  Court documents show an emergency motion was filed on February 26 by the victim asking domestic violence injunction petition.  Lumpkin County Sheriff 's Office posted on Facebook that anyone seeking refuge for domestic violence in a community should always reach out to any local domestic violence organization they can contact.The sheriff writing on Facebook, “If you have taken refuge in a community, I encourage you to reach out to the local law enforcement of that area so that they may be aware of any situations that might arise in order to keep you and your family safe.”The names of the victims have not been released. 2156

DEL MAR, Calif. (KGTV) - San Diego’s North County Transit District detailed Friday the structural reinforcements made to the Del Mar bluffs following a “washout on the tracks.” Two areas were washed out on the bluffs south of Seagrove Park following the Thanksgiving storm, the NCTD reported. Jacobs Engineering and Leighton Consulting reviewed the cause of the track washouts. A preliminary report found the following contributing factors: Excessive stormwater run-on from the City of Del Mar’s residential streets and adjacent properties. Existing drainage facilities (earthen swale drainage ditches) to include culvert clean outs, stormwater overflow not channeled correctly built up and overflowed the main track just south of 13th Street causing erosion on the west side of the Cast-In-Drilled-Hole (CIDH) piles. Debris was observed on the ends of the ties and evidence of the drainage overflowing the track adjacent to the CIDH piles. Drainage channels were completely silted in at this location as well. Excessive silt was a result of overwhelmed inlets from heavy rain and excessive City of Del Mar run-on stormwater that mobilized right-of-way sediment and sediment migrated further, blocking inlets and filling in earthen trackside ditches. The northern washout location will require engineers to analyze it, according to the NCTD. The repairs will be made no later than Jan. 11-12, a date previously scheduled to complete other rail work. Until the repairs are finished, the NCTD said it will have an inspector stationed at the bluffs around the clock to ensure safety for passengers and train crews. It is critical that we advance projects to stabilize the Bluffs for the next 20 to 30 years so that the region can determine and implement a permanent solution. Over the last few years, we have all seen the impacts of sea level rise and we should expect that we will continue to see more weather-related events like this most recent rainstorm moving forward,” said NCTD Executive Director Matthew Tucker. DEL MAR (CNS) - A 4-year-old gelding died today during training at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, the second horse lost during the 81st summer meet.Irreproachable suffered an unspecified injury this morning during a workout, according to Del Mar track spokesman Mac McBride. Irreproachable had raced twice, once at Santa Anita in May and once at Del Mar last month, McBride said.The other fatality involved Lovely Lilia, a 3-year-old filly that suffered a fatal injury during a morning workout on July 11, and was later euthanized.McBride said Del Mar has not lost any horses during racing for the past two summer meets.While there were no racing deaths, four training deaths were recorded last summer, while the subsequent fall meeting saw three racing deaths and two in training.McBride noted that in both 2018 and 2019, the Jockey Club's Equine Injury Database recognized Del Mar as the safest major track in the United States.``We hope to continue in that role this year,'' he said. DENVER, Colo. -- A man was shot and killed near the Denver Art Museum Saturday afternoon. A suspect is in custody, police said. A second person was initially arrested, but police later determined that second person was not affiliated with the shooting.The Denver Police Department said Saturday evening that the suspect in the shooting was a private security guard. He was identified Sunday as Matthew Dolloff, 30. He is being held for investigation of first degree murder.“Further investigation has determined the suspect is a private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa. DELANO, Calif. (KGTV) - Two people died in a crash Tuesday after a traffic stop by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in the city of Delano, near Bakersfield.The Delano Police Department arrived at the scene of the rollover just before 7 a.m. Officers found the SUV on its roof with two victims inside.Police said the SUV had been speeding when the driver went onto a dirt shoulder and lost control. The SUV flipped and stopped after it hit a power pole, according to police.The man and woman inside the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.Delano officers determined ICE agents had pulled over the SUV before the crash. Agents got out of their vehicle but the SUV driver left the scene. The SUV crashed a short time later.There is no word on the identities of the victims or why they were pulled over. 824
