Nintendo has filed a lawsuit against an Arizona man after the video game giant claims he operated two websites "built almost entirely on the brazen and mass-scale infringement of Nintendo's intellectual property rights," according to court documents.The lawsuit, filed July 19 in Arizona U.S. District Court, claims Jacob Mathias and his company, Mathias Designs, L.L.C, operated 'LoveROMs.com' and 'LoveRetro.co' — websites lawyers for Nintendo say "are among the most open and notorious online hubs for pirated video games."The company claims Mathias posted thousands of Nintendo games on the sites that were downloadable as files — known as "ROMs" — and playable on phones or computers through software referred to as emulators. In court documents, the company's lawyers said Mathias uploaded an instructional video to YouTube explaining how to download and run the games.Nintendo estimates its titles were illegally downloaded from the sites by more than 60 million people.The company is seeking 0,000 for each infringement of its copyrighted work and up to ,000,000 for each infringement of the Nintendo trademark. NEW YORK -- A Bronx man is facing murder charges after his mother was found dead in their apartment early Wednesday, according to the NYPD.Police say Carmen Aponte, 66, was discovered by her adult daughter around 1:30 a.m. when she came home to the family's apartment on Seneca Avenue, near Faile Street in the Hunts Point section.Responding officers say they found the woman unconscious in her bed with injuries to her head. NEWTOWN, Connecticut — Elementary students at a Connecticut school where a mass shooting took the lives of 20 students and six adults in 2012 went home early today because of a bomb threat.Police said they believe the threat made toward Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown was a hoax but cleared the school as a precaution. They did not report who was behind the threat, according to courant.com.Newtown Police said they received a call about the threat at 9 a.m. local time today — one day after email threats of bombs were sent to businesses, hospitals and other places across the U.S. and three other countries.The Sandy Hook mass shooting happened exactly 6 years ago on Dec. 14. (KGTV) - Peking Restaurant, a staple of the North Park food scene for 88 years, will close in March of 2019.The owners made the announcement on their Facebook page earlier this month, saying it was time to retire."I'm going on 75 years old," co-owner Ken Fong told 10News. "It's time to enjoy my last few years."The Facebook post says "This decision did not come lightly to us as Pekin is such a special place in our hearts and we love what we do and all of you. A majority of our incredible staff here have been with us 25-40 years... and are ready for the next chapter of retirement and new endeavors."Fong says it's not just the owners who want to retire, but cooks and servers as well.Since word got out about the closure, the restaurant has been flooded with people who want one more meal at a place that became the go-to spot for Chinese food in the area."It's overwhelming," says Fong. "It's driving us nuts. Everyone is overworked."Fond adds that he doesn't mind the extra work, but he didn't expect this kind of reaction.In the wake of the extra crowds, the restaurant put up a sign warning customers that wait times may take longer than usual. They say they don't want to add capacity, so they can give customers the same level of service they've always had.People in the area say it's sad to see such a great place go away."This is something I've known my whole life. I'm going to miss it," says Barbara Sims. She used to come with her parents as a child. Now she brings her grandkids to the restaurant when they visit.Fong says he appreciates all the well wishes he's received in the past few weeks."They all want to come back and have one last memory," he says. "So, thank you."The restaurant will stay open through the Chinese New Year in February and then close in March.Fong says several people and real estate groups have looked into buying it, but he doesn't know if the new owners will keep the location as a Chinese food restaurant or open something new. 2001
