SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A third Marine has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus at MCAS Miramar.The Marine is currently quarantined at his home, MCAS Miramar officials told 10News.Navy medical staff is investigating anyone the Marine may have had contact with, as well.No further information on the base's third case was immediately released.Last week, a Marine tested positive for coronavirus after returning from leave in Washington state where he was visiting family. Then Saturday, the base confirmed a second Marine tested positive for the virus.Those two Marines are currently in isolation and quarantined in an empty barracks that was designated to treat potential cases of COVID-19.MCAS Miramar is currently a quarantine site for individuals evacuated from Wuhan last month and passengers aboard the Grand Princess cruise ship. Those quarantined passengers are being treated by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention staff.The two Marines who had contracted coronavirus last week did not have any contact with cruise passengers, according to the base. MCAS Miramar officials say the base has implemented increased hygiene practices in accordance with the CDC to treat personnel. 1199

Five months later, the entrepreneurs say they are thriving, thanks to their expansion into a chicken coop.Starting a business takes guts. Since then, Nguyen quit her job, and their business blossomed. They went from having twenty deliveries to now more than 120 in a week. They hired more staff and outgrew their space almost immediately."We needed to figure out a spatial solution so that we can continue to grow," Nguyen said.Their solution was Warden's father's backyard in Encinitas, specifically their chicken coop. Warden and his father renovated the 300 square foot space to have a greenhouse and an office. It is not your typical warehouse, but they say it is perfect."It's like working with what you have and being able to pivot and do whatever it takes to take your business to the next step," Nguyen said.They say it is this kind of ingenuity, a loving family, and loyal customers that keep them focused. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — An hours-long standoff between San Diego Police and a burglary suspect ended late Thursday night in the Marina area.The standoff, which started at about 4:30 p.m., occurred in the area of West Harbor Dr., between Kettner Blvd. and Pacific Highway. Police called Emergency Negotiation Team and SWAT officers, and a Psychiatric Emergency Response Team to the scene. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - An advisory committee made up of medical experts met Thursday virtually and recommended that the FDA authorize the Pfizer vaccine for emergency use for Americans 16 and older.The vote was 17 to 4.Hospitals across the San Diego County are preparing their staff and most vulnerable patients for the rollout of the vaccine. They are in the first groups of people to be vaccinated.The county expects to get 28,275 doses of the Pfizer vaccine next week if it gets FDA approval. The initial shipment of doses is not likely enough to meet the large demand said Dr. Davey Smith, the Chief of infectious diseases and Global Public Health at UC San Diego Health."There probably won't be enough for the frontline workers, so we even triage between the frontline workers. So who has the most contact in terms of emergency room workers, nursing staff, those on the front desk, those are the people who should and will get it first, all across the institution," Smith saidThe vaccine is expected at a time when COVID-19 infections are on the rise, and ICUs are filling up."We have hospital beds available, and ICU beds available," Smith said.
