(AP) — Michigan election officials on Monday certified Democrat Joe Biden’s 154,000-vote victory in the state amid President Donald Trump’s brazen attempts to subvert the results of the election. The Board of State Canvassers, which has two Republicans and two Democrats, confirmed the results on a 3-0 vote with one abstention. Allies of Trump and losing GOP Senate candidate John James had urged the panel to delay voting for two weeks to audit votes in heavily Democratic Wayne County, home to Detroit.There has been a whirlwind of unproven allegations of fraud and a string of lawsuits since the election three weeks ago.GOP canvassers in Wayne County, Michigan, originally voted to block the certification of the vote tally, but later changed their vote. (KGTV) — La Mesa's police chief said the incident where a woman was shot in the head with a bean bag round during last weekend's protest is under investigation.LMPD Chief Walt Vasquez said during a press conference that the officer involved has been identified and that the incident was being investigated.Mayor Mark Arapostathis said another press conference would be held to follow up on the investigation. "The incident is under review and will be addressed at a future press conference. She and hundreds of other people were protesting police violence and the death of George Floyd.Furcron's son, Ahmed, said after the press conference that the department's response was not enough. "We want to know what's going on. My mom is 59-years-old. She didn't break any laws. She wasn't being violent or nothing. We want answers. She was shot between the eyes. La Jolla, CALIF., (KGTV) -- San Diego Police detectives are investigating a vandalism case, where someone spay painted swastikas and inappropriate words in a La Jolla neighborhood.Every day, Joe Dicks usually takes La Jolla Mesa Drive to work. But Wednesday morning, he saw something very unusual. "We were disgusted by what we saw," Dicks said. He and his wife saw swastikas drawn in white spray paint in several locations along La Jolla Mesa Drive. Some were on the walls of private homes. Others were drawn on the sidewalks, on construction signs, and even the road. Dicks was so shocked, he stopped the car to take photos. "Look at what the symbol represents," Dicks said. "Hatred, intolerance, violence, I mean, make no mistake. This is a threat."San Diego Police said they got their first report at 7 am Wednesday. Then came two more reports of Inappropriate graffiti on several properties. City workers were immediately called out to clean them up. According to the Anti-Defamation League, 2018 was the third straight year of increased Anti-Semitic incidents in California. Dicks said this cannot become the new norm. "This has no place in this community, and has no place in this city, and has no place in our country," Dicks said. "I love potato chips so I make sure I put them in a little small bowl. Take the bowl away from the kitchen and away from the bag and once I'm done eating them out of that container that bowl, I'm done with my chips."With the season for special holiday treats in full swing, Minella explained how everyone can keep within their diets."You don't want to deprive yourself of the things that you possibly wouldn't get day-to-day all year round," she said. "So I like to say, save the calories for the little special things that you usually don't have.
