(AP) — A newly discovered comet is streaking past Earth, providing a stunning nighttime show after buzzing the sun and expanding its tail.Comet Neowise was spotted by the NASA space telescope bearing that name in March.Since then, the comet — called comet C/2020 F3 NEOWISE— has been spotted by several NASA spacecraft, observatories, and astronauts aboard the International Space Station.The celestial snowball swept within Mercury's orbit a week ago. Its close proximity to the sun caused dust and gas to burn off its surface and create an even bigger debris tail.NASA says the comet is about 3 miles across. "From its infrared signature, we can tell that it is about 5 kilometers [3 miles] across, and by combining the infrared data with visible-light images, we can tell that the comet's nucleus is covered with sooty, dark particles left over from its formation near the birth of our solar system 4.6 billion years ago," said Joseph Masiero, NEOWISE deputy principal investigator at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California.The comet will be visible across the Northern Hemisphere until mid-August, when it heads back toward the outer solar system.People wishing to catch a glimpse of the glowing comet can spot it as it swings through the inner solar system, but its nearness to the Sun creates some observing challenges.As it speeds away from the Sun, NASA says the comet will begin to make its appearance in the evening sky shortly after sunset on July 11 or July 12, depending on local conditions.“Observers might be able to see the comet's central core, or nucleus, with the naked eye in dark skies; using binoculars will give viewers a good look at the fuzzy comet and its long, streaky tail,” said NASA. 1759

CARLSBAD, Calif. (KGTV) — The Dooley family woke up Wednesday morning to some deflated holiday joy outside their home on Highland Drive."A lot of sadness. It really broke our heart, " said homeowner Gavin Dooley.A check of the surveillance video revealed the culprit. Just before 3 a.m., a black SUV pulls up next to their home, as someone emerges from the passenger side and climbs over their four-foot gate. Moments later, the person throws himself onto a large inflatable of a Santa and his fish taco truck.The scrooge tore through their yard, destroying all of their giant Christmas inflatables."Must have had a good pop on the first one. Second one, he jumps on it twice," said Dooley.That inflatable was a 9-foot tall television, reflecting the images of a projector from the movie "A Christmas Story." The vandal then tackles the final inflatable, which sported North Pole penguins.The end result: 0 dollars worth of inflatables destroyed."Pretty unrepairable. Just like a balloon, they’re popped. There's a huge tear in them," said Dooley.Dooley, who has three children, says his youngest -- his 9-year-old son -- was the most distraught.Also dismayed, some neighbors who bring their toddler girl to see the inflatables every day. Charles Manson is being treated in a Bakersfield, California hospital, according to TMZ.Manson, 83, was reportedly rushed to the local hospital for "various treatments," TMZ said.The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation gave this statement when asked to confirm that Manson was in Bakersfield:“CDCR cannot confirm or deny this. Federal and state medical privacy laws preclude CDCR from commenting on protected health information for any inmate in our custody.”Adventist Health confirmed that Manson is not being treated there.In January, the notorious, convicted mass murderer was hospitalized for gastrointestinal issues. TMZ is reporting that Manson looks "ashen" and that his health is deteriorating. Not every app has the same restaurants on them, so you might have to use an app that has the restaurant of your liking.Door Dash was the simplest app to use because there weren’t that many choices or suggestions to help you choose what to eat.Eat 24, like many of the other apps offered food categories like American, Asian and Mexican to help you narrow down your choices.We found when placing your order on each app you had to add your credit card and address, but for Uber Eats you did not. If you have an Uber Ride Share account, it's automatically synced up to that app. It cut the ordering time in half if you were a new user.Although we used Postmates for ordering food, we learned you can use the app for ordering anything. Some use Postmates to order clothes to be picked up or getting an item from the drug store delivered to their house.No matter which app you use there’s a place to save money by adding a promo code. But, you’ll need to watch out for hidden service fees outside of the usual delivery and tax fee.A great feature all the apps have are alerts or push notifications letting you know where your food is and when it will be delivered.Almost every app delivered the food we ordered 10 minutes earlier than their estimated arrival time. Five decades after the civil rights movement, there is still division.Naomi Davis and Sherrilynn Bevel both lived through that groundbreaking era and have insightful perspectives on how the country should move forward with a focus on racial equality.“I grew up in St. Albans Queens, where mom is the president of everything and all the lawns were cut and all the kids were college-bound and it was Martin, it was Malcolm and it was all great things were possible,” said Davis, the CEO of Blacks in Green on Chicago’s South Side.Davis says her organization has set out to fulfill a vision for self-sustaining Black communities.“We have a mission to create walk to work, walk to shop, walk to learn, walk to play villages, where African-American families own the property, own the businesses,” said Davis.Bevel is a nonviolence trainer, as well as the daughter of iconic civil rights pioneers and freedom riders Diane Nash and James Bevel. Both fought for desegregation and civil rights alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.“My father always talked about creating dramas that allow people to see themselves and have to decide who they were in the bigger picture,” said Bevel.Her father was with Dr. King in Memphis and witnessed his assassination in April 1968.“After I was born even, the civil rights workers were finding there will be small communities where Black men's bodies were found in cotton fields and that kind of thing and my mother shared that she had spent like days trying to convince somebody from one of the wire services to come down and report on a body that they had found,” said Bevel. “And it just wasn't news. It wasn’t news.”Both women point to education and more listening as the core path to resolution and coexistence.“We haven't been serious for a long time about educating our citizens,” Bevel said. “And I don't just mean Black and brown people in the inner cities. We have these pockets of rural America where young poor and working-class whites do not understand where their interests run right in line with other working people of color.”Davis says the path forward is a reckoning where the disenfranchised finally get priority at the front of the line, either through reparations or systematic redirection of resources.“That's the math of it,” said Davis. “If you're going to solve for disparity,
