It currently has two Democratic commissioners, Jessica Rosenworcel and Geoffrey Starks, one of whom Biden could choose to elevate to chairman or choose someone from outside the agency.Pai and another Republican commissioner, Michael O’Rielly, are leaving the agency. O’Rielly is leaving because the White House pulled his nomination after he said he wasn’t sure the agency had authority on Section 230. Congress is weighing the nomination of another Republican, Nathan Simington.Pai has presided over a contentious FCC. He undid net neutrality rules that barred internet service providers like Comcast and AT&T from favoring some types of online traffic over others in 2017 and championed other deregulatory efforts. The incoming FCC is likely to try to reinstate net neutrality rules and focus on getting internet service to more Americans.They will likely not act on a recent directive from the Trump administration to look at Section 230 in an effort to regulate social media companies like Facebook and Twitter. "She seems to be falling a lot."So they took her to a free public vision screening put on by For Eye Care Foundation on Florida's east coast."She was screened by Dr. Cano and he gave my mom a printout and said that there were some red flags," Miller said.Turns out, she's nearsighted in one eye but farsighted in the other.It's called amblyopia, or lazy eye. It's a condition that can lead to permanent damage if not caught early."If we can screen these children before their eyes mature they can be treated and prevent visual loss," said Dr. Cano.That's why Dr. Cano says you shouldn't put off a visit to the eye doctor because of the pandemic. There are tools available to keep kids safe."One of the nice devices that we use, which I happen to have with me, is this device," Cano said. "It allows us to be over six feet away from the child."Keeping social distance while keeping eyes healthy, Florida Society of Ophthalmology also offers resources for quick and easy at-home vision tests to help parents and guardians whose children might be spending more time at home.Miller's daughter is two now and doing just fine with her glasses, and they're grateful to have caught the issue early."Incredibly grateful," said Miller. "I'm a special educator. (KGTV) — A Vietnam veteran who is struggling with memory issues says a "mistake" could cause him to be evicted from his Escondido apartment.Orrin Donohoe's studio apartment in the Adult Village complex isn't spacious, but it is home. For how long?"I'm scared of what's going to happen to me," said Donohoe.Donohoe, who served as a deckhand for three years on the USS Columbus CG-12 during the Vietnam War, was later diagnosed with PTSD. "Constantly stressed, afraid I'm going to forget something," said Donohoe.Problems with short-term memory steadily grew worse."Missing doctor's appointments, missed bills, forgetting to get gas, forgetting to check the mail. Goes on and on," said Donohoe.The memory issues that cost him so many jobs could now cost him his home. Donohoe depends on Section 8 housing vouchers to pay most of his rent. A few days ago, Donohoe got a letter from his landlord: A three-day notice to pay his overdue rent.Donohoe believes he forgot to fill out the paperwork for the annual renewal for his housing voucher."Scared and depressed," said Donohoe.He owes more than 0 for this month's rent."I don't have it. I have a 0 in the bank and I haven't paid my electric yet," said Donohoe. Donohoe thinks he could be evicted at any moment. He says the County Housing Authority told him he could reapply for a voucher in six months. Until then, he'll likely have to live on the streets."No sense of security ... (KGTV) - Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who abandoned a vehicle after striking and killing a cyclist Saturday in Escondido.The cyclist was identified Monday as Kevin Lentz of Vista, a married father of a 1-year-old son, according to Escondido Police Lt. Scott Walters and friends of Lentz.The 36-year-old Lentz was cycling with a group on La Honda Road north of El Norte Parkway when he was hit head-on Saturday around noon, according to the Escondido Police Department.RELATED: Bicyclist killed in Escondido hit-and-run crash“The driver of the car was on the wrong side of the road, traveling at high speed on a blind curve when he hit Kevin head-on, killing him instantly,” wrote Devin Rickey on a GoFundMe page set up for Lentz’ family.Officers found the dark Toyota sedan abandoned a half-mile away, in the 600 block of Aster Street. The vehicle had significant damage to the windshield and roof.Lentz was an avid cyclist who raced competitively for the TASCO MTB mountain bike team before scaling back his riding to spend more time with family, friends said.
