A Cirque du Soleil performer who fell Saturday night during a performance in Tampa has died, a Tampa General Hospital spokeswoman said. The acrobat who died has been identified as Yann Arnaud, according to a statement released by Cirque de Soleil's Volta."It is with immense sadness that Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group reports that a tragic accident occurred last night, March 17, during a performance of its show VOLTA, in Tampa, Florida," the statement began. Arnaud, a longtime aerialist, was performing "the aerial straps number" when he fell onto the stage, according to the Cirque du Soleil statement. First responders moved in quickly to administer medical aid. Arnaud was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died of his injuries. "The entire Cirque du Soleil family is in shock and devastated by this tragedy. Yann had been with us for over 15 years and was loved by all who had the chance to know him. A federal judge in Seattle granted a motion for a preliminary injunction on Monday that blocks a Texas man from releasing downloadable blueprints for 3D-printed guns until the litigation is resolved, according to court documents obtained by CNN.Judge Robert S. Lasnik of the US District Court for Western Washington extended an earlier temporary restraining order, which will now remain in place until the case is resolved, the court documents state."The Court finds that the irreparable burdens on the private defendants' First Amendment rights are dwarfed by the irreparable harms the States are likely to suffer if the existing restrictions are withdrawn and that, overall, the public interest strongly supports maintaining the status quo through the pendency of this litigation," Lasnik wrote in the ruling.The ruling comes as part of a years-long battle between the federal government and Defense Distributed, an organization that in 2013 posted designs for a 3D-printed handgun called the Liberator. The pistol was made out of ABS plastic, the same material used in Lego blocks, and could be made on a 3D printer.The US government ordered him to take the blueprints down that year, and the company's founder Cody Wilson sued the government in 2015. The Trump administration settled the case in June, and the 3D weapon blueprints were scheduled to be posted online August 1.However, Washington state and other states sued to block the release of the blueprints that day. A college football player from the College of Wooster in Ohio died on Sunday, after he was transported to the hospital following a game on Saturday. Clayton Geib, who was an All-Conference offensive lineman from London, Ohio, died at the age of 21. Geib was a three-year starter for NCAA Division III Wooster, starting in 33 games. According to the college's athletic department, Geib was transported to the hospital on Saturday after complaining that he did not feel well. The cause of his death is unknown. "Clayton was a wonderful student and member of the College of Wooster community, and beloved by many," said Sarah R. Bolton, Wooster's president, "Our hearts are breaking, and all our prayers and thoughts are with Clayton's family, teammates, and friends."Wooster is located Northeast Ohio. Geib's death is the second among college football players in the area this year. In June, freshman Tyler Heintz died following football conditioning drills at Kent State. A drug used to treat type 2 diabetes and designed to lower glucose levels is being recalled because the manufacturer found it contained high levels of a cancer-causing agent.Marksans Pharma Limited is recalling metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets because levels of NDMA were higher than the acceptable daily intake limit, according to a release from the Food and Drug Administration.The release says the company has not received any reports of adverse events related to this recall at this time.NDMA is classified as a probable human carcinogen, a substance that could cause cancer, based on results from laboratory tests. It’s a known environmental contaminant “found in water and foods, including meats, dairy products and vegetables,” according to the FDA.”These tablets are used in addition to diet and exercise to improve blood glucose control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
