A puggle is a baby echidna, an Australian relative of the platypus. They are sometimes called a spiny anteater.Echidna’s are one of only five species of mammals who lay eggs. Sydney started in a grape-sized, leathery egg that was carried in her mom’s pouch for ten days. Once hatched, a jelly bean-sized Sydney stayed in mom’s pouch nursing milk for awhile, before climbing out and staying close to the den.Those hollow spines start poking through at roughly 53 days old. The spines are a camouflage in the wild. Echidnas are found natively throughout New Guinea, Australia and Tasmania, in a wide range of habitats from snow-covered mountains to deserts. 797

A self-driving vehicle operated by Waymo was involved in a crash in Chandler on Friday afternoon. Helicopter footage from Scripps station KNXV in Phoenix showed significant damage to the self-driving van, as well as a silver sedan, after the collision near Chandler Village Drive and Chandler Boulevard. Minor injuries were reported in the crash.Chandler police said the Waymo van was in autonomous mode with an occupant behind the wheel at the time of the crash, but was not the "violator vehicle."Police spokesman Seth Tyler said it is believed that this is the first Waymo collision in Chandler this year.RELATED: Waymo gives?360-degree?view of what it's like inside self-driving carsThis is the second known self-driving car crash in the Phoenix area in the past two months. A pedestrian bridge suddenly collapsed onto the road below near Florida International University, crushing cars and killing at least six people Thursday.Hours after the bridge collapsed, officials said early Friday that the rescue mission is now a recovery operation.Emergency crews worked overnight in what Miami-Dade Police spokesman Alvaro Zavaleta called a "very slow process" in order to preserve evidence and the safety of possible victims and rescuers, because of unstable conditions at the bridge.At least nine people were transported to hospitals for treatment, authorities said.Witnesses described hearing a loud boom Thursday and moments later, finding victims, including construction workers across the wreckage and people trapped in cars.Senator Marco Rubio, who visited the site Thursday, posted on Twitter: "The cables that suspend the #Miami bridge had loosened & the engineering firm ordered that they be tightened. They were being tightened when it collapsed today." A robbery suspect calls himself a modern-day "Robin Hood," but he’s facing charges after thefts from construction sites in Port St. Lucie.Police said Thomas Paul Sauer, 50, was caught on surveillance video stealing appliances from at least two homes under construction.Security video shows a red SUV pulling up to a home in, a passenger getting out of the car, opening the garage door, then the SUV backing into the garage.On Sunday a Port St. Lucie police officer came across the suspect's vehicle, a 2005 Hyundai SUV, parked in a driveway about two-and-a-half miles away from the robbery.On Monday, detectives went to the home where the suspect's vehicle was still parked. While at the home, detectives met with Sauer who lives at the address. Sauer later admitted to taking a 0 washer and dryer from the first house, and an ,800 refrigerator out of a second house.Sauer told police that "he was like Robin Hood." A new lawsuit says a woman who tried on lipstick at a Sephora cosmetics store in Hollywood, California got herpes from the sample.The unidentified woman claims it happened at the store in October 2015, according to a report by TMZ. She ended up with herpes on her lip and says she never had it before the visit to the store.The documents say the store failed to clearly warn the woman of the risk of getting a disease from using samples of lipstick there.The lawsuit says the woman is suing over the emotional distress for getting an "incurable lifelong affliction." Sephora did not respond to the TMZ article, but a spokesperson for the retailer did respond to Fashionista, saying the health and safety of its customers is a priority.
