Not many people like being caught speeding and getting ticketed, but one person's solution to not getting caught might lead to even more trouble. The Metropolitan D.C. Police released video earlier this week of a suspect getting out of a car and smashing a camera designed to catch and ticket speeders. The video shows the suspect knocking over the machine, kicking it a few times and throwing the camera into a ditch before getting back into a car and speeding off. WJLA-TV reported that this incident caught on video was one of six incidents that took place in DC last week. As of Tuesday, no arrests have been made in connection to these incidents.  685

OCEANSIDE, Calif. (KGTV) - As 10News focuses on Life in Oceanside, we’re looking at the lasting legacy of Chargers legend Junior Seau. Seau, who died in 2012, was well-known in the community even as a high school sports star. "Whenever I'm playing on the football field I want you guys all to know, I represent Oceanside. It all started here,” he once told 10News. Seau’s sister Mary watched her brother shine at USC and eventually, the San Diego Chargers. Seau’s standout NFL career gave him the platform to give back through the Junior Seau Foundation with events like Shop with a Jock. Mary Seau says people approach her with a message about her brother’s generosity. "If it wasn't for Junior, I wouldn't be where I'm at today... and that warms my heart." When Seau took his own life, the pain was overwhelming in Oceanside. "It was a big loss. Not only for our family, but for the whole entire community." Years later, his memory is as strong as ever. "Junior is still with us. He is saying, ‘Get up and go and enjoy life and don't hold back.’” 1216

OAKLAND, Calif. -- The United States Geological Survey is reporting that an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.5 has struck just outside of Oakland. The earthquake struck at 7:18 p.m. just two miles outside of Oakland Monday. No damage or injuries are being reported. The USGS originally reported that the earthquake was a 3.8 magnitude, then a 3.6. The quake was eventually downgraded to a 3.5.  439

On Tuesday, Casey Louviere was mowing her yard in Louisiana when she suddenly passed out from heat exhaustion."I started seeing stars, and suddenly everything was black," Louviere said.She says she thought she was fine, as she had been drinking water at the time."Just simply went outside to cut grass, it was so hot. You know, I was fine, then everything just turned black. The heat is not something to play with," Louviere explained.Officials with the Scott Fire Department say they responded to the call on Rue Bon Secours of a person unconscious in their front yard."SFD began assessing the patient and administering basic life support interventions. Acadian Ambulance medics arrived, and the patient was transported to a local hospital," a release states. But the firefighters didn't just help Louviere medically.The firefighters stayed with her children until a friend was able to come over. They also came back to finish mowing her lawn."Something like that brings tears to your eyes, knowing that there are still good people out there like that," she said. "They took time out of their day to cut my grass and they didn't have to do that.""We didn't have to do it. We didn't do it to get recognition by any means, but we wanted to bless her and bless her family. Her grass was high and we wanted to help her," Fire Captain Kris Gumpert said.However, Louviere says she did not know the job was finished until she saw it on Facebook."I'm working from home currently, so I didn't walk outside this morning. OCEANSIDE (CNS) - Two vehicles crashed Saturday on College Boulevard underneath state Route 78 in Oceanside, killing at least one person.The California Highway Patrol reported a blue Tesla and red sedan collided at 3:04 p.m., causing one of them to overturn and land on its roof on College.Medics and officers from the Oceanside Police Department were on scene trying to extract the two occupants of the overturned vehicle, the CHP said. Officers were shutting down traffic in the area.A San Diego County coroner was at the scene of the crash to investigate, the CHP said.No further information was immediately available. 629
