Popular music festivals Coachella and Stagecoach have officially been postponed until October due to coronavirus fears.Festival organizer Goldenvoice said that it was heeding advice from health officials in California, adding "while this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff and community very seriously."Tickets for both festivals will be good for the rescheduled October dates. President Donald Trump falsely claimed Saturday that the New York Stock Exchange re-opened the day after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in an effort to justify holding a rally on the same day that a mass shooting occurred at a synagogue in Pittsburgh.Speaking at a planned campaign rally in Illinois, Trump said he had weighed whether to cancel his rally as well as a speech at an agricultural convention earlier in the day in Indianapolis, Indiana, but ultimately decided against it, saying such a move would amount to giving the killer an edge. President Donald Trump has reportedly asked the FDA to permit an untested herbal extract to be marketed as a dietary supplement and a potential cure for Covid-19, according to reporting by Axios.Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson and MyPillow founder and CEO Mike Lindell both support using oleander extract.Oleandrin is commonly used to treat heart conditions and asthma.Lindell, who is a vocal Trump supporter and personal friend, met with President Trump and Secretary Carson in July to tout the untested drug for use in coronavirus cases. President Trump vocalized support for the extract in the meeting, according to Axios.Lindell reportedly has a stake in Phoenix Biotechnology, the company that makes oleandrin.There is a small, non-peer-reviewed study that oleandrin inhibited coronavirus in test-tube experiments using monkey kidney cells.“I haven’t (pushed the FDA to approve it),” the president told reporters Monday morning when asked about oleandrin. When asked if it was something he would support, he responded, “Is it something that people are talking about very strongly? We’ll look at it, we’ll look at it. Chellie Pingree says at least 4,800 chicks shipped to Maine farmers through the U.S. Postal Service have arrived dead in the recent weeks since rapid cuts hit the federal mail carrier’s operations.The Portland Press Herald reported Wednesday that Pingree is raising the issue of the dead chicks in a letter to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and U.S. Department of Agriculture Commissioner Sonny Perdue.DeJoy, a Republican donor, took control of the agency in June and has since swiftly engineered cuts and operational changes that are disrupting mail delivery operations.The USPS says it can’t find a claim for the loss of chicks.In one case, 800 live chicks arrived dead in Maine.
