The truck and the Nissan came to a stop blocking several traffic lanes.A 2003 Honda CRV then struck the Toyota, according to the CHP. MISSOURI (KMOV) -- A state representative from western Missouri wants to ban porn access for everyone in the state unless you pay up.Representative Jim Neely (R-Cameron) says the idea behind his bill is simple: protecting kids. The bill says a distributor who makes or sells a product that is accessible to the internet, like a phone or a computer would be required to install a blocking software that would prevent the device from accessing obscene material.Neely says it would apply to all porn. A person could have the blocking software removed if they prove they are more 18-years-old and pays a deactivation fee. The money would go into a fund called the “Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation Prevention Fund.”When pressed on how the blocking software would work, Neely said it would be similar to how schools block students from websites, but when pressed he admitted, he wasn’t sure of the logistics.“I’m a physician, I don’t know computers,” said Neely in a phone interview.Cindy Wallace is the manager of Simple Pleasures Boutique in south St. Louis. They have a large adult video collection.“I just don’t see how they would be able to do it number one and number two, I think there are more things in every single state to worry about besides people watching porn,” said Wallace. The ACLU of Missouri said the bill adds an “unreliable and unconstitutional filter.”“While this legislation may seem like a way to make communities safer, it will cause more harm than good by censoring constitutionally protected speech and creating far-reaching, long-term consequences when it comes to Missourians’ privacy,” said Jeffrey Mittman, executive director, ACLU of Missouri“This bill will invade the privacy of Missourians who have not engaged in any criminal act.”The bill says if a distributor fails to block the prohibited sites, they could face a civil lawsuit.News 4 asked Attorney General Josh Hawley about the proposed legislation but he said he would have to read up on it.Nearly identical legislation was introduced in Alabama and Rhode Island. The bill has not yet gone to committee. 2112

Months after removing all assault rifles from all 732 of its stores, Dick's Sporting Goods is considering removing all hunting gear from its stores, company CEO Edward Stack said in a conference call, according to CBS News. Stack said on the call that Dick's will test the concept at 10 locations. The 10 locations selected were ones where hunting goods were not selling well. "We'll have to wait and see how the 10-store test does," Stack said on the call. CBS reported that Stack added that there are a number of additional locations where selling hunting goods are difficult. The additional space could be used for Dick's to sell higher-margin items, such as outerwear and clothing for team sports, especially baseball and soccer. CBS reported that Dick's adjusted same-store sales were down 3.9 percent in the third quarter of 2018 compared to 2017. Following Wednesday's announcement, stocks for Dick's rose 2.4 percent, showing that investors welcomed the news.  1026

More than 600,000 people signed up for Obamacare in the first four days of open enrollment, far outpacing last year's rate.Nearly a quarter were enrolling for the first time, while the rest renewed coverage, according to statistics released Thursday by the Trump administration. The period covers Nov. 1 through Nov. 4.The data provides the first look at how Obamacare will fare under an administration determined to dismantle the health reform law. While Trump officials are maintaining the federal exchange, healthcare.gov, they have slashed open enrollment advertising and support. Also, consumers will have only six weeks to sign up for coverage on the federal exchange, rather than the three months or more they had in previous years. Obamacare supporters were quick to jump on the data, noting that the average daily pace was nearly double that of last year's.Related: 5 changes for Obamacare open enrollment for 2018"This is a great start to open enrollment and is further evidence that people want health insurance and that they're finding coverage they can afford," said Lori Lodes, a former Obama official and co-founder of Get America Covered, which is aiming to boost sign ups.Are you shopping for Obamacare coverage for 2018?
