SAN DIEGO (KGTV) – Many restaurants around San Diego are making preparations to reopen Thursday nearly 24 hours after a judge ruled the state of California, and San Diego County, can’t enforce a stay-at-home order regarding restaurants and strip clubs.San Diego Superior Court Judge Joel R. Wohlfeil on Wednesday ruled strip clubs and "San Diego County businesses with restaurant service” cannot get a cease-and-desist order. At a Thursday hearing, the judge reinforced that his ruling encompasses all restaurants, not just strip clubs. The ruling had local restaurant owners such as Rudford’s owner Jeff Kasha clamoring to open their doors again."As soon as we’re asked to close in five minutes, we’ll open in five minutes,” Kasha told ABC 10News.Kasha said his eatery on El Cajon Boulevard in North Park went from 45 to 17 employees due to the constantly changing rules. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Mesa Biotech, based in San Diego, has received FDA approval for its rapid COVID-19 tests that can produce results in about half-an-hour.“Our first kits are going out today to some of the health systems, county health departments, to validate the performance against the existing testing,” said Laura Dullanty, a marketing manager at Mesa Biotech. She said it will still take a few weeks before they will be able to deploy them widely to the health care providers who have requested the tests. Even that's been a challenge to plan that,” said Dullanty. “We’re staggering shifts, taking time in between, cleaning the area well.” Right now, most tests are performed on-site then sent to a lab for processing. It can take several days or longer before a patient knows the results. White spent more than 30 years in America’s Finest City as a reporter and anchor at KGTV 10News.White grew up in Oceanside and graduated from Oceanside High School in 1957. He was even inducted into the school’s hall of fame for his contribution to the arts.White began his broadcasting career on the radio in the early 1960s before moving to TV where he spent 34 years at KGTV.On November 14, 2010, the City of San Diego declared Jack White Day. The county made a similar declaration. Many who worked with him called him a gentleman and a great coworker. After leaving 10News, White worked as a technical advisor on the movie “Anchorman.”White covered every story there was to be covered in San Diego. His Restaurant Row coverage was known as a 10News staple.
