And not only did she give it a try, she excelled."I'm currently ranked number 6 in the world and number 1 in the United States."With 98% vision loss, she has implants in her eyes to help her see. Then she was introduced to Iris Vision. A product which at first glance looks like goggles. But for Amy, it would totally change the way she trained."It increases my visual fields," she says. FARMINGTON, Utah — A man faces felony charges after he admitted to stabbing a woman and throwing her out of a moving car in Sunday night, killing her. At about 9:50 p.m., emergency dispatch started receiving calls about a body in traffic on northbound I-15. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle driving erratically and nearly hitting the median."A short time later, witnesses stated a person or what appeared to be a body came out of the vehicle on the driver side. The vehicle then continued for a distance continuing to drive erratically before it came to a stop," a probable cause statement said.A Davis County Sheriff's Office deputy made contact with Oscar Cuevas-Landa near State St. and Main St. in Farmington.According to the probable cause statement, Cuevas-Landa had blood on his hand, forearm and pants, and he was wearing no shirt and only one shoe."After being advised of his Miranda [rights] the subject spoke about the incident stating that he had stabbed the victim multiple times, unbuckled her seat belt, reached over and opened the door and then pushed the victim out of the driver side door," the statement said.Investigators believe Cuevas-Landa had hitched a ride with the victim, whom he didn't know."During that journey, [Cuevas-Landa] stated that the victim looked at him funny, so he stabbed the victim several times and then pushed the victim (driver) from a vehicle moving at freeway speeds," the probable cause statement said.Cuevas-Landa also told investigators he had been using marijuana and LSD.A State Bureau of Investigation agent responded to the area where witnesses reported seeing the body and found the woman dead.Police didn't identify the victim, but said she suffered extensive injuries , including two wounds consistent with stabbing injuries.Cuevas-Landa faces a first-degree felony charge of murder and a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury.This story originally reported by David Wells on fox13now.com. 2006

The Escondido City Council voted 3-2 Wednesday night. This means they will move forward with "The Villages" development on the 109 acres of former Escondido Country Club land.The country club was closed years ago when purchased by a new owner with plans to build 380 homes. Federal authorities are investigating after officials in Massachusetts confirm that a ballot drop box in Boston was set on fire early Sunday morning.According to WCVB-TV in Boston, a ballot drop box out front of the Boston Public Library's main branch in Copley Square was set ablaze around 4 a.m. ET on Sunday morning. Crews eventually extinguished the fire with water.According to WCVB, an "incendiary device" was used to start the fire. WBTS-TV reports that the FBI is investigated in the incident."For the next several weeks, it is a top priority of our offices to help maintain the integrity of the election process in Massachusetts by aggressively enforcing federal election laws," the FBI and U.S. Attorney's Office in Massachusetts said in a joint statement.Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin also both condemned the incident in a joint statement.“What happened in the early hours of this morning to the ballot drop box in Copley Square is a disgrace to democracy, a disrespect to the voters fulfilling their civic duty, and a crime,” the statement read. “Our first and foremost priority is maintaining the integrity of our elections process and ensuring transparency and trust with our voters, and any effort to undermine or tamper with that process must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
