NANJING, July 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua Friday called for more efforts on developing rural industries in a bid to promote comprehensive vitalization of rural areas.

"China, as always, welcomes foreign enterprises to invest in China and engage in mutually beneficial cooperation," Lu said. "We will continue to provide a more stable, fair, transparent and predictable business environment for foreign investors."

Foreign ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang made the remarks at a press conference in response to a question regarding China-U.S. economic and trade relations.

Bai Qiuyong, an official with the ministry, attributed such improvement to the country's effective measures on protecting marine ecosystem and environment.
